Usually Sprint's world phones come out of the box unlocked for international use, but call the international department at 1-888-226-7212 and see if they can unlock it for you.

just got it so i can use both CDMA sprint while in USA and GSM while travelling.
however, none of my international (nor domestic) GSM sim cards are being accepted (they worked perfectly in my sprint htcTP2, heck even US GSM worked in that).
how do i get usa or international GSM sim cards to actually work in my Evo DESIGN? it's a nice phone but if its not flexibly actually a world phone, its useless!![]()

Thrill me...
thanks, talked with a few different reps, they stress the GSM feature is LOCKED for USA and only unlocked for outside usa.
i remember the hassle and cost of unlocking and custom ROMing my sprint htc tp2 just so the radio would work with any GSM. looks like this ones harder because of the HTC Evo Design's signed bootloader on lockdown. what a waste!! definitely returning this phone, not happy cant even root it!
