Question Net10 - LG Optimus Net - do they really offer 3G? and if so, with who?

I'm trying to figure something out coming from the contract world of Verizon... I know companies like Virgin and Boost use Sprint's towers and actually offer 3G data speeds. I'm seeing now that Net10 has a couple of relatively nice Android phones in its offerings. Does Net10 provide 3G data for those phones? And if they really do, whose network are they using? I've dug everywhere I could think and haven't been able to find anything - so any info would be much appreciated.

Net10 claims 3G connectivity in the product descriptions. They work on the Sprint network.

So theoretically it should work similarly to Virgin or Boost then...

I know this is a crapshoot, but their customer service said the phone is both GSM and CDMA capable and will use whatever is best in my area... I find that hard to believe.

I'm sure what they meant to tell you is that they will send you one that works with one OR the other depending on the zipcode you give them. but it sure would be nice if a phone was both and actually worked with AT&T and Verizon at the same time as you go from one tower to the other

Either way I'm interested on both of these 2 new LG Optimus phones

I asked on the net10 forum, they replied the Android phones only work on Sprints native network.

That is a fact for the whole country. Currently there are no native Androids sold by Straight Talk or Net 10 that operate on AT&T, Verizon, T Mobile, or US Cellular. American Movil has contracts with all them for other phones across the nation but the Android phones from Straight Talk and Net 10 are Strictly Sprint Native towers. If you want to see where your service is just google a map of Virgin Mobiles tower area and you have Net 10s Android tower area.
