    iTunes has stoped working...

My son locked up his Ipod touch and I have been having problems simply getting Itunes to load. It says Itunes has stopped working (running Windows 7 64 bit). I have un-installed... re-installed and done all the basic easy trouble shooting that I can think of. The error message below denotes what it keeps telling me. I am not sure what else it could be.

Can you use System Restore to revert to a previous restore point when iTunes was working?

To fix your son's ipod touch, press and hold both the power button and the big round button under the screen, at the same time, for 15 seconds.

iTunes sucks. My iTunes crashes almost daily. That's why I own an android device. They cost less than an iPod Touch, have phones built in, can use an SD card to gain more memory than any iPod Touch, and require no syncing in order to use.

Huh? What's with bringing all the negative comments? Really off topic. Not all Andoids have expansion slots. With iOS 5 iPhone and iPod Touch users don't have to sync to use either.
Q: Would you patronize a streetwalker?

A: No, I would treat her as an equal.

When you "un-installed... re-installed" did you do the complete uninstall recommended by Apple (including uninstalling Bonjour, Apple Application Support, etc), or did you just uninstall iTunes? A quick Google suggests that your problem is either a) a disk error (run a Chkdsk to see), or b) a problem with one of the supporting Apple programs, such as Apple Application Support.

If you haven't done the complete Apple recommended uninstall/reinstall sequence, try following the directions here:

Two or three years ago, there were some issues. Today, iTunes works fine with 64 bit systems. I run Windows 7 64 bit, and have no trouble with iTunes.

The latest version of iTunes is available as 64 bit compatible for both Windows Vista and Windows 7 and Mac OS Lion.
