    Ringtone/Notification issue with Electrify

I must be doing something wrong, but I cannot get my custom ringtones to work for separate contacts on my Electrify. Can someone explain where they should be? On the phone memory itself, or on the sd card? And in what kind of folders? My ringtones are all there but when I assign one to a contact, when it plays back it just shows "unknown ringtone" and plays a generic beep beep beep. I'm sure it's something simple...

    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever get this resolved?

I put my "ringtones" and "notifications" folders on my phone instead of my sd card and they worked. Once I got them to the contacts I wanted them to be on I restarted the device and it worked. Mine did the same thing y'all are talking about. I'm not digging the Moto Blur craptastic launcher so I've been running Go Launcher and well pretty much Go everything else. I do have one question, is there a way to change the email notification for gmail? I can't figure it out.

Got mine working now. Did the same as you and moved them to phone instead of card but that didn't totally fix it. Finally isolated the root of the problem to be a conflict with a 3rd party dialer, TouchPal. However, after trying several 3rd party dialers and having the same problem I've left them all behind and using the default Moto/Android dialer that came on the phone.

+1 on GoLauncherEX. I love GoLauncher and I also love GoSMS.

And, no, I haven't found a way to set a separate notification for Gmail. It seems that Android lump all notifications together so far as I've been able to find out so far.

I use K-9 Mail (available on Android Market) to handle my Gmail account. It is very customizable and you can configure whatever ringtone you want for its notification. In addition it will handle several mail accounts.

I got the ringtone to change, but the notification tone won't change from U.S. Cellular. I tried changing it and restarting, it even shows the name of the tone that I'm trying to play, but it still plays U.S. Cellular. I downloaded the tones I've tried from Zedge and Myxer.

I called my local U.S Cell store today and the guy I talked to said to set the tones individually for each app. For example, go into the messaging app's settings, gmail's settings, etc. and set them that way.
