XT910 Motorola Razr (Rogers Vs) Help with DATA (apn and mobile Data Network) 4 Fido
I purchased a Rogers Razr 11/11/07.
While waiting for the sim unlock code, had no trouble to root the phone and eventually carrier unlocked the Razr 11/11/08.
Popped in a new and fresh Micro Sim card from Fido, and Voice, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi work perfectly. But, I cannot access or use Data, inspite of the fact of having a Data Plan with Fido. When I scan for available Mobile Data Networks, The 3 choices that appear are:
Rogers (302-720)
Telus (302-220)
Bell (302-610)
I am in the MTL, QC region. I can access options to choose and Select the 2 available Networks (2G only, 3G only, or Automatic Mode), but I cannot access Data.
I called CSR of Fido a couple of times, and made sure they had me configured for an Android setup (and not iPhone) for the DATA portion. I remember on my "jailbroken" iphone I needed to enter APN settings, but on this release from Rogers, there are no ways to select and choose from the main menu any changes or options for APN.
I haven't "Android" since 2008, so I am a little rusty and getting my wits about me all over again (back in 2007-2008 bought an HTC from ebay from AT&T carrier and had to mod it to get Fido Data to Work, so I know I can do it).
Got my answer ( I have the web page and site that helped me out... http://www.______.co.nz (not sure if I can post it) but search for "apn changer" with google and you will get a site.
I take no credit for this* and only wish to share and help...
