If you want to see if your phone exhibits this issue, go into a dark room and power the phone off and on. The blotches are randomly scattered pixels and lines across the screen.
My unit has this issue as well. It's only really visible is a pitch black room. I otherwise don't notice. I'm wondering if I should attempt to make a swap for a better unit. A poster on androidcentral said all the units at his Verizon had the issue.

From what I've read it's a oled/samoled issue and most displays will have it. Zune HD, Galaxy SII, Nokia N8/9 devices also have it.

I checked out the Razr today, and I think it's just a bit too wide to hold comfortably as a phone. My Droid X is as wide as I would go. I guess I am going to see if the Galaxy Nexus is more ergonomic when it comes out.

You didn't ask for a widget? As far as I know, there still isn't one out for LTE.

I'm with you, I wish is was closer to the actual screen width and the battery life sucks compared to my OG Droid.

    But I am keeping it.

Does not appear to work for me, I'd like someone else to prove me wrong.

I will be swapping --- If the next device I get has it, I will swap again. if that doesn't work, Galaxy Nexus it is.

Report back with your findings. I kind of want to go check out the displays of various samoled devices. I'll be going to pay an AT&T bill today, so I'm going to check out there display units.

I'm otherwise really enjoying the samoled. This may just be the price we pay for that beautiful screen.

Ok will do --- I would like to chime in and say, I have a ZuneHD and I have not seen this issue (I have had one since release day).

With the Droid Bionic being rooted, a few weeks ago I installed a file (can't remember where I got it from, maybe XDA) that replaced the standard battery meter with the circular version that shows the actually battery % remaining, such as "90%".
Has anyone tried this yet with the Droid Razr to see if the battery meter can be replaced?
=> Read my reviews for the Samsung Droid Charge, HTC ThunderBolt, and Casio G'zOne Commando.

    => VX8000 at Disney World:Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.

Has anyone been able to see if voice & data can be used simultaneously while in 3G (like it can on the Thunderbolt and Breakout)?

I am going for the Rezound because of the repulsive Pentile Matrix display found in the Razr and Motorola's of late. I can't stand that screen door appearance.

I can confirm that simultaneous voice and data over 3G does not work on the Droid RAZR. On my Thunderbolt I used that mostly in the car. At home WiFi and Voice work fine; out and about in the DC Metro area, 4G is abundant and I don't have the need.

I know its personal preference.... and I HATED the screen on the Bionic (the main reason I took the phone back) but the screen on the razr doesn't have that pixely, screen door effect to me.. in fact I think the screen on the razr is great!

Sent from my DROID RAZR using HowardForums
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Have you actually held it and looked at it?

I ask because I can't see any similarities in the screens. (granted, it's been a month since I checked the Bionic), but still, this screen is freaking great, I remember being completely turned off by the bionic.

Even with the sun shining ON the display, I can read it, impressive, IMHO.
