Account/Phone transfer help please.

Hello guys and gals, Ive been reading the forums for a while now and just decided to get an account as I need some assistance and I cant seem to find a thread that deals specifically with what I am looking for.

I bought a phone on Craigs List, A Cricket Kyocera Sanyo Zio. The guy I bought it off of had a few days left on his plan but needed the money i guess, so i bought it and have been trying it out as this is my first smartphone! (So happy about that lol.) So what I want to do, is be able to, after his plan runs out, I want to be able to put this phone in my name on cricket in my own account and start using as normal. How can I go about doing this? Will I need to have it flashed or unlocked or will i have to do something via cricket? I am very new to all this phone talk so I dont know that I am even making sense :P I just want to know how to go about putting this phone in my name on cricket when the current guys plan is over, or, if i even have to wait until its done.

When the account expires and his next months bill is left unpaid the MEID will most likely be locked for the next 30 days, a dealer should be able to free it up though if your activating a new account. You could alternately ask him to terminate his account early so the MEID will be free to put on a new account.
