unfortunately, it isn't looking good for VM.

Yes, we know about those. I have a feeling they may be cooking up some other things that just haven't been leaked/announced yet. But like I said before Boost has been looking really good for the last year or so. Still holding out hope for VM because I like the brand more. I have always had a special place in my heart for VM since I got my first phone from them at 17, lol. I leave, but eventually come back.

Maybe not, there are other devices that will soon be available on the Virgin Mobile brand. The number 4 and the letter G come to mind.

What was it that they were calling it ???... hmmmm, WiMax ?

    4G devices on Virgin Mobile.
A Viper on Virgin Mobile.... now that would be oh so much better than yet another 3G Optimus.

Operating without a contract makes you far more valuable.

Same here. Been with VM since '06. Since then, I've tried Tracfone, Straight Talk, and Sprint, but only spent a month with each before going back to VM.

I'm content with my Optimus V, but it would be nice if they put out some better options. I know it's no-contract, and I know that they're trying to market Boost as the higher end Android devices, but it's a stupid move on their part. They should just merge Boost and Virgin together, considering they're almost exact.

Sprint wastes more money on marketing for 2 seperate no-contract services that are virtually identical, when they could just merge them, which would be less money on marketing, and more money on better phones.

    Soon?
    Really?

It's not going to be Wi-Max as the article referenced 4G LTE.

Sprint has to pay Clearwire per 4G device, it was part of the bundled 10.00 smartphone up charge. Prior to that you paid the premium if you bought a 4G device even if there was no 4G coverage in your area.

Clearwires 4G footprint is about the size of your bathroom. Wi-Max is absolutely terrible signal wise since it runs on the 2500mhz frequency. It has a hard time penetrating a straw hut let alone a brick and mortar building. I was recently in Philadelphia (an alleged strong Wi-Max area) and I tried running some speed test while in the car and could never complete the test due to is loosing and then re-acquiring the signal.

The article indicates that "someday" LTE will find its way to Sprint prepaid but don't hold your breath, it's going to take a while to get it up and running across the country. Only then will it roll out on prepaid and you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be offered on the 25.00 beyond talk plan.

By putting the better devices on Boost it will force those that want it off the 25.00 a month plan if they want to leave.

Unless of course there are other plans... oh what could those be???
Sprint will need to unload their inventory of wimax devices, i wonder if they have ever unloaded undesirable or outdated product before??? Maybe a replay of the failed "turd" ~Replenish now on Boost Mobile - as you like to refer to these type of sale failures on Sprint's post paid??? (b/c Sprint needs to abuse those Boost Mobile customers with outdated failed products every once in a while BlackBerry 8330).

WiMax Prepaid offers might appear as early as Q3/Q4 2012.
You seem to be stuck on the expired $25 plan which is no longer available to new subscribers, they will however offer the 4G Products on whatever current prepaid offers exist at that time.
Give me an evo4g with wimax by this summer at 300$ or less, do it VM!!! Make sure you announce it soon though because I probably won't hold off that long if nothing is announced within the next couple of months.

    ...talk plan.
Sprint charges the $10 data fee to 3G smartphones like the Optimus S and others as well.
They should do the same with prepaid VM and Boost, instead of throttling data services.

No need to throttle when subscribers are willing to pay for the service.

Very nice phone for Virgin Mobile when it Arrive(s)...

    HTC Arrive:

    Windows® Phone OS 7
5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash
    3.6-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen
    Music + Videos-Zune

Recall the Music related PULSE SURVEY from a few months ago...

I think we now have a candidate that fits that....
Currently available at a Sprint mvno.... http://www.prepaydwireless.com/arrive.html

Not too bad and a $35 Beyond talk service option too...

If a Windows phone were to find itself on VM (which I would like too) I would rather go for the Lumina 710 or 800. IF either one came to VM I am sure it would be the lower end 710 since VM loves to get the slowest most low end phone available from a manufacturer.

HTC: We have decent 3.7 and 4 inch phone available for around 250.00
    Boost: we'll take both!
VM: it looks nice, but do you have anything in the 600 MHZ range with a 3.2 inch screen we can sell for 300.00?
