Well, the move is kind of obvious. There's already a newer phone, running Android 2.3, of similar design with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The embattled old Intercept was the first phone in the Beyond Talk line-up.

Look like this won't affect me for awhile. I don't plan to upgrade my OV til Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Until then, I'll see what the landscape is like before I jump/upgrade. Perhaps VM knows I am a big cheapskate and didn't bother to text me on this information yet.

I know there haven't been any rumors surrounding this so far, but now that VM is posed to get Sprint's 4G devices, I would really love to see the Nexus S 4G as a VM device. I've wanted this since it was released. It was recently taken off of Sprint's 4G device list. Any thoughts on that?

Considering they need to be older, yet still in production phones, I would just about put money on the Evo 3D and/or the Conquest.

Nexus, no chance, too new, too exclusive and too expensive. The massive screen is too big of a jump and could steal people from postpaid. Same with the Galaxy S2. The Photon is also too new. The Evo Design and Epic are older and both have been rumored for Boost. The 3D has been rumored for Virgin, which fits with it being removed from Sprint's site, but not end of life'd.
Your village called, they want their idiot back.

Yarp, why sell the phones for a discount when they can sell them at near-retail prices with Ting?

The Nexus S 4G (Wi-Max flavor) is far from new and I actually think it is a bit older than the EVO 3D.

I've owned both and I think the EVO 3D is a better phone.

I'm not sure which is older, but I doubt we will be getting that phone regardless for the other reasons stated. I won't complain if we do, I just don't see it happening.

I said Nexus S 4G. NOT Galaxy Nexus. Look up the differences.

Ya, the Nexus S 4G was not a smashing hit on Sprint. I think it's a perfect candidate for Boost or VM.

I don't know how many devices they could flood prepaid with and make the numbers work. They only have so many customers and a small Wi-Max footprint anyway. But, that's what the bean counters are for.

Doesn't matter what Nexus model you want to throw into the ring (and frankly I have no interest in any of them).
They aren't going to bring any Nexus to VM, older or not, they aren't going to bring a marquee level phone like Nexus to prepaid. My whole thing was based on currently available (or very recently dropped phones I.E. the 3D). Older and discontinued are completely irrelevant as they aren't going to bring back a dead phone.

As for the three linked articles above, they all took the same info and got different ideas from it just as I have. The actual info was very little.

The Nexus is $400 unlocked on any GSM network. It's more for the Sprint CDMA rendition, of course, but that's not a lot of money. Especially considering how much we faithfuls have shelled out for the Triumph and earlier Intercept, without specs anywhere near this.

Also, it's getting really hard to tell what phones are being referenced any more. Was that the Optimus Prime or Transformer Prime? Galaxy S, Nexus S, or Galaxy Nexus? Evo 4G or Evo 3D? Epic or Galaxy S™ II, Epic™ 4G Touch?
