HTC EVO app icons don't appear in folders (only default images...)

Hey Gang. FYI my phone is in factory condition, I never rooted it.

Due to the fact that I download a s--t ton of apps, i need places to organize them into. I have begun using folders on my desktop. However, I noticed that after EVERY restart, or battery removal (I keep 6 spare batteries and 2 desktop chargers handy to get around the power-sucking hurdle), every app that is on the desktop appears with it's normal icon, but inside the folders, MOST of the apps show their appropriate icons, while some do not. The ones that do not show only the DEFAULT "android app" icon.

The only way I have found to circumvent this issue, is to drag the icon out of the folder to "remove" it, then make a new icon on the desktop and drag it back into the folder. This only works until my battery dies and I power down and restart the phone.

I have contacted Sprint about the issue, and the only thing they can offer is that possible the software the app was written with is glitchy and causing it not to appear when inside the folder. Any ideas as to how I can get them to always appear even inside the folders?

The apps that consistently don't appear with their appropriate icons are: IMDB, Moviefone, Zedge, Soundhound, Ebay (official), GeoQpons, Gas Buddy, Veggie Blade FREE, Lost Mummy Lite, Alchemy Classic, Kitten Cannon, Squibble Light. These are the ones I notice the most, anyway....
