Exclamation Galaxy S2X CAMERA, RADIO and POWER OFF issues

    Hello there.

I've already changed the phone once (Telus). The first phone had a camera focus issue: it would not focus when there were a lot of elements in the frame, like the leaves on a tree, or when the distance between the phone and the subject increased over ~7 meters. Went back to the store, compared two phones side by side, then they gave me a new one.

This one has another two problems:
Compared to the old one, it takes a longer time to find the network, up to one minute.
I am unable to shut it down when charging via the power adapter. It will just reboot. Everything is ok if I charge it over a computer USB port.

Now... I could live with these, but I'm wondering if there are more glitches that I am unable to spot right now.
Also, I'm beginning to fear that I will get an even worse device.

Anybody else having any issues with the S2X?

Everything working fine on my phone ~ 4 days in using the device.

Initially I had a network searching and authentication issue. Took almost 3-5 minutes to connect to the net work (pulling out SIM and placing it back).

I'll let you know if i encounter anything else.

How do you find the battery life on the phone? Any feedback on general performance? Do you find it laggy?

I find the battery life to be quite good, I almost made it 2 days without charging or powering off the phone at night. I do not play games much, used only the camera a lot, the GPS and WiFi were on all the time.

On the general performance, it tends to get lazy if I don't do the "clear memory" thing at least once a day.

Ok, Third phone now. Went to the store and exchanged it once more after it went into a loop trying to power on.
The phone powered down while showing the battery at around 40%. Then it would vibrate once, would try to boot, restart, vibrate once, try to boot and so on.
Finally it showed me a screen asking if I am sure I want to install a custom OS, as it could damage tho phone. Since I had no custom OS to install I answered "No", then it went back into the cycle of vibrate-boot-restart-vibrate-boot-restart.

I went to sleep, in the morning everything was up and running as if nothing went wrong. I went to the store and got another one. Must be bad karma .

Oh well, keeping an eye on this one... so far, so good.

That's not a defect. You triggered the phone into download mode. You must have hit the volume down on boot.

I am aware that the screen asking for a custom OS is not a defect, I was just saying that I got there while the phone wouldn't start. Maybe I should have been clearer on that.
However, there were too many glitches and I'll be stuck with a 3 year plan so I want a device that does not have them.
    Third phone seems perfectly fine
