lg 900g - do i need a new charger or a new phone???

this is so weird. i noticed i was missing a couple bars so i turned the phone off so that i could charge it. when i plugged it in to the charger instead of it telling me that is what it was doing - it turned the phone back on!

it will not charge for some reason! when it is on - nothing happens! the bars don't move to let me know it is charging.

One thing you might decide to try is to buy a spare battery or 2 and a universal charger that charges any cell battery outside the phone. That will solve your problem if their is a problem with the charger or the connection on your phone. Plus you can carry the extra charged batteries with you if you use your radio or mp3 function a lot like me.

I got 3 OEM LG spares for my LG900G for about $5.50 each and the charger is a super cheap looking, but easy to figure out (without me reading any garbled English from China) thing for about the same price. I'll find the sites if you need me too; start out on Amazon.com . It does take about all night to get a full charge with this charger though.

yes i think i need to get a new battery. i used to leave my phone on all day and the bars would never change but i have noticed since yesterday that after a few hours a bar is missing! i rarely had to recharge it but now i must do it a couple times a day!

I would call Net10 for a replacement battery if it is less than 1 Yr....
If it is more than 1 Yr, I would buy a new phone for $20 on BF (CVS or Best B.)... it is much cheaper than just buying a battery .... I would get 60 days of service on top of a new phone and battery and charger.

I remember reading multiple reports right here on HoFo about the battery indicator never changing while on charge before. Don't recall if it was the 900G or 420G.

Before buying extra batteries right away, might want to dig about a bit here and see what others had to come up with to solve the problem.

Perhaps the phone is confused. It happens.You can always try removing the battery while the phone is still powered on and leave the battery out for like 10 minutes.

Then re-apply the battery, and turn the phone on at least once, and let it fully boot before attempting to recharge it.

i did attempt plugging it in again yesterday and it worked just fine - exactly the way it was supposed to.

no i didn't do anything at at all to it. i got so frustrated with it that i just left it alone for a few hours and when i tried it again - poof! - it did what it was supposed to! you are so right - exchanging phones is NOT something i wanted to do at all and was going to be my very last choice!
