    PayLo vs Tracfone

Is it time for Virgin Mobile to add Basic Device Talk, Messaging, & Web options along with better feature phones to the PayLo service?

    Tracfone 30-Day Individual Value Plans
all plans include talk, text, web and email
    $10/50 - (150 minutes)*
    $20/125 - (375 minutes)*
    $30/200 - (600 minutes)*
    *LG 800G, Motorola EX124G, Samsung T404G
these phones include triple minutes for life

    http://prepaidmobilephonereviews.com...y-value-plans/
    http://www.phonedog.com/carriers/tra...50-value-plan/
    PayLo Monthly options
    $20/400 Talk Only
    $30 - 1500 minutes/1500 messages/30Mb web

The LG Rumor 2 and Samsung Restore are both similar to the Samsung T404G, but PayLo lacks any Touch Screen option at the moment. Maybe Sprint/VM will add feature packed touch screen phones to the Paylo line-up in the near future to better compete against Tracfone.

    this might help...

    Sprint/VM should add:
    Daily Unlimited Talk ($0.99)
Daily Unlimited Talk & Text ($1.50)
Daily Unlimiited Talk, Text, & Web ($1.99)
    ...service options to PayLo.

It would make PayLo more competetive than the current TracFone offers.

I really miss the old text bundles you could buy with the old by-the-minute plans.

And the Texter's Delight plans too.
They should bring those Texting Service Options to PayLo now that they have more qwerty phones on the service.

Sprint doesn't appear to like Paygo. They killed Common Cents and consolidated it within VM, raised the Boost mobile paygo rates and except for Ptel and maybe Mingo, Att's new rates are leaving them behind for mvnos.
I say 1.20 a meg is a joke. This is seriously pre 2009. They need to get it together. And allow at least Paylo phones on all plans if you're not gonna allow smartphones on paylo. VM's byod (or lack of ) is tough enough. As for Tracfone, no byod but TMFL is making things sweet. They should update the Kickback plans as dollar credits that can be used on anything including text and data, not just minutes.

The Common Cents Mobile thing may have been related to the Straight Talk agreement (that may have been the catalyst that led to the America Movil ~ Tracfone ~ ST/Sprint agreement). There might be additional TF services using the Sprint network in addition to the current ST/Net10 androids. The TracFone mvno agreement provides a much better ROI than the CCM brand did.

PayLo seems like the perfect service to launch a FREE prepaid phone promotion. Purchase a $60 Top-Up card and receive a free PayLo Phone (LG101 or Kyocera s2100) ...or Purchase a $90 Top-Up card and receive a FREE LG Rumor 2 or LG Rumor Touch, etc., etc. Both of those promotions also qualify for the current 1 year Service Preserver stipulations.

There are now 6 phones to choose from on PayLo...
Looks like VM will need to add at least 5 to start comparing their device selection to Tracfone's.

You can only see those last two phones (both of which are "Temporarily out of stock") if you disable Javascript in your browser.

I'm a coder and this makes me angry Maybe that's what they did to the Blackberry Curve, then my fatalistic predictions were wrong... Again.

Monthly prepaid plans are the big thing. Tracfone is holding its own with Triple Minutes For life, touchscreens and qwertys. VM is way behind in the paygo arena. With Att and other Sprint mvnos as low as 4 cents a minute, 20 cents is a joke.

VM needs to pull it together as Boost's paygo offerings are even more limited...

    Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/6.5.26955/27.1530; U; en) Presto/2.8.119 Version/11.10)

Just a few days away from May, any sightings of New Basic CDMA phones bound for Sprint/VM-PayLo??? There was talk of a touch screen phone and/or Slider similar to those on Trac/Net10.
