7 Eleven Speakout Goam.com server is wide open today
Let's keep a low profile and quiet while it lasts but as posted on the other forum, the 7-Eleven Speakout (and Petro Canada wireless) via the Goam.com proxy is wide open today, all apps works and no more restrictions on browsing!
Hopefully it will be permanent and not only a glitch!
In west end Ottawa can get goam.com working with proxy settings. Apps are all functioning. Can't get internet.com functioning; what are your settings?
2g network speeds roughly .5 Mbps DL.
Full Data instead of Browsing available (temporarily?) on SO
Yes, for the last few weeks SO subscribers with the $10/month "unlimited browsing" option have actually been getting full Data service. SO subscribers across the country are reporting 2g Edge, or even 3G service!
We don't know how long it will last or if it is an official service offering of SO. Everyone is just keeping their fingers crossed, trying not to abuse it to get us all cut off.
There are lots of theories about why this is happening but there has been no official announcement from SO on this as yet. Everyone is eagerly awaiting some kind of confirmation from SO, and hoping they make it official and permanent.
For the latest developments and for configuration settings see the Unofficial SO Wireless Website Forum.

It could be that this will go the way of PC Mobile - they will leave the loophole open for a while, then perhaps grandfather it for existing clients, and change it to a limited MB plan for new subscribers.
