Mobile Hotspot available now for Bold 9900

I don't have one to test it myself, but according to crackberry, OS 7.1.0.74 has the mobile hotspot feature enabled.

The first link is already dead. Here's a mirror someone posted. If this doesn't work, just google it and I'm sure you'll find one after a few attempts:

And here's the link with instructions on how to upgrade your firmware:

I think I'm going to wait for an official Telus release. With all the bricking that's going on with the 9900's out there I'm concerned.

I was just coming here to ask how "7-10kbps" and "excellent" could possibly be put into the same statement. Thanks for clarifying!

Indeed Excellent! Figures just when I've pretty much tried to last with RIM and left them for iOS (and Android; SOLELY for this one specific reason alone) they leak a firmware to give the fans just what they've been complaining about for 2yrs. The PlayBooks life depended on this with the 9900/9810 and now the 9790.

So Denny 9900 or 9790? You're on Telus right? I know I've laggard but 2 more weeks and present will be ready.

? Are you saying this because the bridge browser sucks? I would agree if that's what you're saying.

LOL I thought you forgot about me! Yes TELUS, and 9900 all the way. Although I'd love a white one, but I think TELUS is the only one without a white one out here actually. Maybe I'll have to unlock a Bell or Rogers version. But I'll take whatever I can get a good deal on.

I loaded the OS as well. It would seem that UMA is enabled as well with this OS for those Rogers customers.

I am not having any issues other than some of the beta tester programs don't work as they were suppose to such as animated gifs for bbm pics, definitely worth the tradeoff. Beta Twitter still works great.
