LTE has arrived. The third carrier in Las Vegas with 10x10 LTE coverage
Coverage will expand to 100 million LTE pops for the first half of 2013, with the second half of 2013 expanding to 200 million POPs covered. Release 10 LTE (2×10, 2×20) will be better performing than all other competitors.
T-Mobile USA. “This year, we’re stepping on the gas again. We are making continued coverage improvements and launching an advanced LTE network
Getting bigger is fine. They need to work on getting better too...
Better how? The plans are good, great BYOD, all in all not a bad deal.
T-Mobile could use another good MVNO or two.
Poor Cs. Outgunned by Tmo's own $60 plan. Less coverage. No paygo. 3g data speeds that are really 2g and "unlimited" plans that are actually 1 to 2 gigs. If their parent can tell you that it's 2 gigs, why can't they?
Simple is far from perfect. I only recommend their $40 plan if one knows they will be getting 2g level speeds/have a device that isn't Tmobile 3g compatible. Blackberry plans as they beat Tmo's by ten bucks. Other then that, Tmobile prepaid kills them except for unlimited intl texting. Calling is a wash because anyone can by calling cards and get any prepaid service to have low priced intl air time.
Heck, the Hofo prepaid wiki on them doesn't even recommend them. I'm nicer to them then the wiki is. LOL.

Who cares about paygo, there probably is not a lot of money in that for them.
You may be correct comparing the upper tiered plans but for 40.00 a month that plan can't be beat.
Heck, you could get an iPhone for 40 a month unlimited.
Poor CS is the norm for an MVNO it seems.
Bill, you can have the last word. It's my Xmas present to you. Happy Holidays.
I'll bite. I like how there is a $40 plan to go to, and that I can very easily switch between the 2 online. On what I know will be lite use months, I can throttle back to the $40 plan and save a couple lunches.
It's not about having the last word, it's about being an actual user who moved one line to Simple from Virgin.
40 a month unlimited talk, text and data is an absolute steal and for that money and I don't expect to stream Youtube or Netflix with it but it does
do Pandora OK. Even a user like yourself who has a basic flip phone can find this service more than adequate. If one is a data junkie this is not
the plan for them but one on a limited budget that would like the ability to do some web surfing, facebook and maybe even navigation can find this
service attractive for the money. Add the fact that it is wide open BYOD makes it better.
As you get in to the higher priced plans it's not so clear and I agree T-Mobile is the better way to go but for 40 a month I have yet to find anything
better.
There was one or two people online who claimed true 3g speeds on this plan but from what I've seen, over 95% look to be 2g levels.
I agree that this is a terrific plan for feature phones (which aren't optimized for data anyway) or older 2G only phones (which can only use slower/2g data only.
Simple Mobile , according to one post , added a million users a year. How many of them still on is another question but they don't appear to be collapsing like say H20 seems to be.
Simple Mobile is doing well because they are tightly focused on services and sims only with no diffusion of their attack point with phones , paygo and other less relevant parts of prepaid.
All they do is sell sims and service. I guess the old adage, pick one thing and get good at it applies to them.
Spot On,
T-Mobile could use another MVNO like Simple. It's too bad T-Mobile didn't get in the game sooner.
Who cares (from a business standpoint) about paygo customers that might spend 100.00 a year or less on service. Being in business is
about making money. It's great that there are good paygo plans out there for those that need it, it's OK they don't want to be a part of it. With their pricing structure, they must have a decent ARPU.
I think it's an excellent idea to not sell phones and encourage BYOD plus use affiliate web sites for phone purchases.
No tying up money in inventory, no personnel needed to buy it, receive it, stock it, ship it, accept returns etc.
They have banners/signage outside most of the mom and pop phone stores, electronic/computer stores around here.
You don't see that with Jolt, Red Pocket, H2o etc.
When you break out of the 40.00 price point other (but not necessarily better) options become available.

I actually saw a television ad for simple mobile on Comedy Central late at night... it was like "join the SIM revolution" LOL
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
Just saw a TV ad for SimpleMobile on TBS at 2pm. Still not prime time, broadcast network, but they're making their way up and making ad buys.
Now if only they'd actually make the 3G data at a more reasonable cap than 120k.
