My target had a lot of them last month. I know they did not sell out of them but removed them on purpose and said they only have what is on the shelf.

This month is due soon so this time I think I will get 3 $10 cards because that seems easy.

Because VM will charge you sales tax when buying them from a retailer will not incur sales tax. This is true in CA where CA does not tax services.

BTW, I bought 2 $25 cards Saturday 12/3 using the now expired Target $10 gift card for $50 purchase coupon. There were a few left on the racks but they seem in short supply. No problem. Get them cheaper via callingmart anyway with the bonus points and the 3% coupon.

ETA: VM announced in July to its dealers that these topup cards were going to be phased out. Maybe this is making its way to the retail stores soon. IDK.

"Real-Time Replenishment (RTR) is a PIN-less replenishment product that addresses many of the shortfalls of PIN-based replenishment products. Instead of using a PIN to add money to a customer’s account, RTR adds money directly onto a customer’s phone number in real-time. This is our way of continuing to improve the Virgin Mobile retail partner and customer experience.

    RTR Benefits:

    > No Card Printing
    > No Card or PIN Inventory Management
    > No PIN Related Fraud
    > No Out-of-Stock & Re-order Issues
    > No Stolen Card Issues
    > No Defective Product Return Issues
    > $10 to $99: One Top-Up Product that Replaces Multiple SKUs"

At safeway they have new vm cards that say paylo in 10, 20, and 30 dollar values. The old card says vm 25 topup. Does anyone know if the paylo card works on beyond talk plans? I assume it does but because it says paylo I am not sure.

When VM makes a $25 transfer from my checking account they also take an additional $2.29 in sales tax so my checking account takes a hit for $27.29 & my local small VM/Boost dealer gets nada, that's why I don't do it that way.

I was going to try the email walmart topup but the website would not work on my phone so I gave up.

So I got a 30 paylo card from safeway. They give you a separate receipt that shows the card is activated. I used the card today and it worked so next month I will get a 20 paylo card. I think this paylo card method works ok but I might look for a better method in the future.

When I don't use calling mart, I buy at local retalers. Most have loyalty type programs, one local VM/Boost dealer even offers a free month after X# of Top Ups. Which is great if you have more than one acct.

It's $24.95 for the $25 card and you get few cents off on the next card....and NO TAX :-)
