Question I'm looking to replace my Mom's phone (T60d) with T306 or T316. I want opinions.

I'm either gonna get her a T306 or T316. She doesn't use her phone alot She is used to S/E so thats why I'm sticking with them, plus all her accssories will work with them.

I've owned a T306 and know it's a good phone (good RF, good battery life) I can get it for FREE ($29.99+$30.00 Rebate)

I know the T316 is essentially the same phone in a new body(From the spec sheet, it is anyway). I can get it FREE too ($79.99+$30.00 Rebate+$50.00 Instant Trade-in Rebate)

I was planning to keep the T60d as a backup, it's still a good phone

Anyone here, used both and can tell me reasons I should get the T316 over the T306?

At first I didn't like the look of the T316, but it's grown on me. My parents don't care for games, so thats not an issue.

    Thanks for all opinions.

I cant give you a good reason, but I love my t316. It's a nice little phone and works well enough.

I haven't used the T316, but just wondering if your Mom has a specific preference for T306 or T316 looks-wise? Might be a good idea to go with something she likes looking at

The T316 has a calendar/organizer function in the newest firmware version if it matters to your Mom... otherwise I can't think of major differences.

I've showed her both of them, she doesn't really care, it stays in her purse most of the time. As long as it works when she needs it, shes happy.

maybe the major difference for T306 and T316 is the number of polyphonic ring tone......

    T306 has 24 polyphonic ringtone....

T316 has 32 polyphonic ringtone..... (does this necessarily sound better?? i can't tell since i haven't compare the ring tones yet)

this means that T316 has more instruments.....i can't give you more info cos i'm still trying to find someone who can let me compare the rings......

I'd say go for the t316. I havent really been able to compare the two, however I'd think the t316 would be maybe a slightly nicer phone, and either way they're both free.

I love my t316 and it seems to be a fairly well thought of phone, so it seems like a good bet.

Well, if your mom likes to customize her phone, or how it look, then you should get the T306. Change faceplates and stuff, gives the phone a brand new look each time you change it!
