Note: Spot Mobile is one of the cheapest options if you intend to make limited use of a phone. You can get service for as little as $20 per year by making a $5.00 payment every 90 days, and the money you pay goes towards calls at ten cents per minute. Spot Mobile’s U.S. based customer service is very good. However, you are charged for spam texts, and at this time it is not possible to disable text messaging. One user received over 30 spam texts in the first two weeks of service. Also, some users have reported being charged for spam calls that go to voicemail.
