My dad got a Nokia 6350 in July and I just recently noticed that the mini display (when the flip phone is closed) shows some strange fractal pattern and possibly a cracked screen. I looked at the display closely and there is no physical damage so I thought maybe it was just the particular wallpaper. I tried changing the wallpaper for the mini display and while I was looking on the web for possible solutions - I discovered that the mini display no longer shows the time/date or carrier. It just shows this strange pattern.
We bought the phone through an independently-owned store, with a contract extension on ATT. Am I right in assuming that a) this phone would be covered by ATT - there are one year warranties for new phones, right? and b) is it possible that this problem with the mini display is not caused by physical damage (i.e., which would not be covered by a warranty) and there's something else wrong?
With all the cellphones that we've had since 2001, this is the first phone that we've had a problem like this... even my dad's LG flip phone that he had for 4 years lasted longer than 4 months!
