Transferring a TOR from someone else - is there a new Rogers policy?

I just got off the phone from Rogers sales who told me that if i transfer someone else's plan to my own, i would lose all of the promotional add-ons that were part of the plan. They said that most people don't know this and the only thing you would be transfering is the length of contract and would be forced to take a "rack rate" that Rogers currently offers.

If that's the case then all of those great plans that people are selling are now toast??

Is this the case? Or was it a marketing ploy?

If that's the case, Rogers has just lost many reasons for people to TOR. A foolish business model!

Well the reality is people will just be forced to stay or pay the ECF/DECF.

Did they actually say it was a new policy or did they explain it as just something people don't know? They policy, afaik, has always been "agent's discretion".

    Wirelessly posted (WhiteBerry Bold 9780: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9780; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.706 Mobile Safari/534.8+)

It's probably just some overzealous agent. I would try again.

Sounds like Rogers is making changes to protect their revenue.

They make more money on new activations on rack rate plans.

WOW, this is absolutely outrageous. I can't even believe this.

I will say that I just transferred my unlimited $50 CAN/USA plan (with lots of discounts) a few weeks ago and everything went fine. So if it's a new policy, it's a very very new one.

Can anyone confirm one way or another!? I'm extremely shocked.

If true, this proves Rogers will do anything, as long as it's not illegal. I'm so glad I left in time.

another reason I didn't go through the hassle of "selling off" my plan.
Instead, I subsidized my ECF / DECF by doing a HUP and sold that off.

that and i didn't want my ban to live on, Personal decision
