EXTREMELY Frustrated With Virgin Mobile. I am leaving Sprint/Virgin/Boost COMPLETELY.

They are going to wish they didn't do this. Between my family, friends, business, and personal lines I think I have about 20 active lines on S. Not to mention I control the future for many of my friends which provider they get. Sprint is completely off the list in every way, shape, or form.

On Cyber Monday I submitted an order to Virgin Mobile for 2 Optimus Slider and 1 Triumph. Later that day I figured it was an even better deal by using the 20% off coupon code. Submitted another two orders at one phone per order to get the discount. Deal got even better: Add FatWallet. Submitted a few more orders for individual phones w/ 20% off coupon.

Virgin gives me shipping orders for all the phones.

But then if I track the order they say:

    Delivery exception,
    Returning package to shipper
    Reference: FRAUD

So I immediately call FedEx but I knew they had nothing to say so I had to call Virgin. After 4 hours between 9 calls and 15 reps I get nowhere except an e-mail for fraudalert@virginmobileusa.com ... The rep assured me it was an accident due to larger than average volume (9 phones) and it would be fixed. Turns out it's the wrong e-mail. The rep meant to tell me it was fraudalerts@virginmobileusa.com. I also sent them a Fax.

Well I played all their games and finally got an e-mail back from Virgin, it says:

Our web site is for personal use only. Buying phones in Bulk is not permissible. The handsets are being returned to us by FedEx.

    Regards,

    Virgin Mobile USA
Bulk? I wonder if they ever heard of GIFTS? Replacement phones? Large family? Business lines? Anything? I would consider bulk to be 1,000+ units, not 9!

So SCREW Virgin and their bait and switch! I am selling my entire families phones and plans and moving back over to PagePlus. I am going to cancel my last two Sprint postpaid lines as well.

What makes matters worse is that I am a shareholder with Sprint and my equity in the company is down 50% already this year. I am selling that garbage too! Now I know why they are doing so bad! Now I see what they are doing with their money. They advertise the **** out of the brand ($$), get you to purchase, ship the order out ($$), then pay for it to get shipped right back to them ($$), and gain nothing except this big rant which I hope others will see.

Fatwallet just reversed the funds. Virgin has not refunded me a cent and their phones are on the way back to them now.

I THINK Virgin did this because they regret offering this sale and having a 20% off code + fatwallet around at the same time. Now the phones are backordered and the price is $200-$300... oops. They have none to sell at that price, let's just take some away from a customer that got the best deal. Problem solved.

I also find it pretty funny that a phone company doesn't have any phones in the fraud department. It's e-mail and fax only!

Joke is on you Virgin, T-Mobile now has the $30 plan, PagePlus just bumped up the data AND text on the $29 plan and lowered the unlimited back to $39 and a new $12 plan comes out this month. See ya!

Sounds like you got greedy by using too many discounts and they made a business decision to not lose money. You should have ordered them by phone but thats unfortunate that happened.

Greedy? Cause I want to buy an item on sale? If they want to limit people then they can clearly type a limit there. There was no limit, there is nothing that says you can't use it for business calls, or give as a gift... NOTHING.

Either way, I found a source for $45-$70 Droid 1's, 2's and X's and PagePlus will be getting my business from here on out. Maybe a T-Mobile line as well! Sorry Virgin. Your fault.

Yes it does, VM lost me over the Triumph. Everyone knows what I think of the phone so I won't go there again. But yep it feels real good to be gone.
I am currently on TMobile with the Exhibit 2 4G, which is everything I hoped the Triumph would be, Straight Talk with a LG Thrive, like having my Optimus V back, loved that phone but didn't know it until it was gone. And Have the Republic wireless phone on the way and interested to see how that will turn out when it arrives.

Virgin mobile is screwing itself when it does crap like this, they might just as well close their doors and send all their customers to Boost.

I dont think the discounts have anything to do with it.

When the intercept came out i upgraded my family to them and ordered (4) when i got the phones they were unable to be activated, they told me my order was canceled and i needed to return the phones. They would not tell me why. The next day i tried the esn and they worked, never heard anything after that.

Did you use Paypal ? If you did maybe they were the ones who raised the flag ? I think that was my issue.

LOL Go to it. they always say vote with your wallet. I do and I also get as many of my family and friends on PAYG as possible. Sadly with Virgin mobiles lack of customer loyalty and their screwem if you can philosophy I will be directing everyone I can away from them.
I do have to give them one plug though. VM showed me how far PAYG has come in the last few years and that now if you want a decent smartphone for a decent price, with decent service you can get them.

Ok, so you've decided to leave Sprint, VM, etc. When can we count on you leaving this forum?

Phone companies are extremely sensitive to fraud. You tripped one of VM's fraud tripwires. Now that that is on your record, they won't want to do business with you either.

I used paypal for some cause it was easier to enter my password which is linked to my credit card rather than entering my CC info all the time.

PayPal never called me. I have used it to pay for virgin phones before.

Either way it's fine. I can easily go somewhere else, but this is just silly.

    They could at least call.

But why bother approving all the orders? Then ship them? Then ship them back? Their system sucks! HUGE waste of money. Now we know where the $10/month increase went.

Never. I will be sure to stick around just for you!

That's ok. I just figured it out, in the coming year Sprint will lose nearly $1,000/mo because of this.

Hopefully iPhone gains balance it out, cause I need my stock to go up before I sell.

In the past I was fine with having a lot of lines on PagePlus, I could purchase bulk refill cards from more sources at a larger discount than I ever get on VM cards.

What you did looked exactly like fraud and I can't really blame them. Especially the setting up of new accounts to use the discount code (it was only available on new accounts) then using the same credit card on multiple new accounts. When they see the same card coming in on 9 different orders, and some on new accounts, all the bells go off because that is what a fraudster would do. You would be just as mad if someone did this with your CC fraudulently and VM did not stop them, I'm not sure what you expected to happen here.

I didn't need to set up any account I just clicked order. Just like anyone else. If they had a problem with it they should stop it BEFORE they approve it AND ship it AND nearly deliver it. If they don't want my business it's fine. I'd hate to throw away all my $25 plans but oh well.

Might want to keep an eye on those accounts, if they red flagged your account for fraud it's only a matter of time before other accounts at the SAME address are subjected to suspension of service or potentially termination.

Cause I pay my bill every month? How idiotic would that be.

Either way they are getting closed out soon.

Funny they sent me two emails about free airtime when I add airtime. Stupidity.
