My current contract expires March '12 however Sprint said i would have to $50 ETF if I left now to get out of contract.. I want an Iphone 4s but the speeds and slownees I see around this site and web for Sprint for the iphone4s seems bad.. So do you think it's worth spending $50 to leave Sprint and go with either Verizon and AT&T for 2 years on the Iphone4s? If so which carrier do you recommend? The bad benefit of leaving sprint is NO unlimited plan, that is only reason to stay IMO.. Or should I just deal with my phone till March '12 and see if Sprint hammers out this slowness/data issue with Iphone4s?? Any thoughts/recommendations on this at all??
Depends on your area. I thought it was worth it to move from ATT to Sprint and pay a 400 dollar ETF because of the money I would be saving. Turns out that in Los Angeles Sprint isn't even close to the speed or voice quality. I ended up going back to ATT.
It all really depends on where you live, i have vzw because i have found them to have the best coverage. If i were you, double check that ETF because when i worked for Nextel the fee was around 250. But quite honestly to wait out 4 months would be worth it if my statement is correct about the ETF.
Here is an excerpt from the Sprint Early Termination Fee policy:
The early termination fee is prorated and is calculated by taking the months remaining on your Service Agreement times $20 for Advanced Devices, with a maximum of $350, and minimum of $100. For all other devices, the prorated ETF is calculated by taking the months remaining times $10 with a maximum of $200 and minimum of $50.
The Early Termination Fee is less than the cost of one month's service under your current plan.
Thanks for the replies.. Some thinking to do.. Decisions, Decisions..
I have had a Samnsung Moment for Sprint last 2 years and service has been bad.. I live in the burbs of Philly and connection goes in an out.. Have had dropped calls, Servicee issues, and constant signal problems..
I know Sprint has unlimited data but I feel if I goto Verizon or AT&T I don't think I will hit the 2 MB plan.. I've checked my Sprint last few years and haven't used this much but however having an Iphone it may go up?? I'm sure you can do more..
I've read about the Sprint Network improvement going on thier newtwork but again I guess it's all about the area where you live..
Hope this clarifies some things but still tempted to leave still thinking about..

The iPhone 5 is coming out next year around that time, why get an iPhone 4S now and pay money, when you can get the iPhone 5 in few months? No logic.

As iPhone 4S just taught us, nothing is for certain. It could be another year or more until the next gen iPhone is released. A year is a long time to wait for a phone and it might well be worthwhile for the OP to get the current gen iPhone now rather than waiting for an undetermined amount of time.
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

Well I decided to pay the $50 ETF and leave Sprint and go with AT&T for Iphone 4s.. So far 2 weeks and loving it (knock on wood no problems so far).. i Hated leaving the Sprint Unlimited plan BUT with my work giving me a good AT&T discount and Sprint slowness issues I couldn't resist.. Good Luck to all if you stay on Sprint with Iphone4.. Thank you all for replies..
