My SIM + hypersim combination doesn't do auto-update of the time, and there's no way the DoCoMo UIM can auto-update as it can't connect to the network, it's inactive.
Just a note- had you not gotten a sim from one of the members here, a certain seller on eBay (who also happens to be on this board) would have been happy to sell you one for $19 + shipping

Wow, isn't that too much money to pay for the (hope to get the) ability to sync music between the PC and the phone? Registered99 was kind enough to give me his for free, I only paid for shipping.
I've seen inactive docomo "FOMA" SIMs for around AUD$18 in eBay.

LOL.
Well, since I have no use for this UIM now or in the forseeable future, and I paid 12 USD for the shipping, I am offering it for the same price to anyone interested. This price will cover registered mail with tracking number to anywhere in the world.

Well he doesn't advertise it as being functional for anything, just as a means to use the phone's functions. I guess it'd be useful for the 90x series phones as 1seg is locked without a docomo sim, but otherwise it's just a pretty thing.

Oh, so, the hypersim can't trick the phone into unlocking 1Seg? Of course that's only relevant for users living in countries that have 1Seg (Philipines being one if I'm not mistaken). Anyway, still useless to me.

Actually, I'm not so sure for the docomos- it's been a while since I last had a 905/906 series docomo.
I know that on SoftBanks even with the hypersim the phone sees that it's 'roaming' (since it's not on the SoftBank network) and spits out a 'This feature is only available in Japan' message when attempting to turn on 1seg.
