Incredible Won't Update To Gingerbread

I recieved a message on on DInc stating a software update was available. I tried to download and install it, but nothing happened...no reboot at all. About a week later, I got the same message so I tried again...still nothing!

The original Android 2.3.4 software had the 4.06 build number, and now I am trying to get the 4.08.605.2 number. Is there a way to force my DInc to update it's software?

If you read the full thread on androidcentral, many folks had issues due to space. The big thing is beforehand, be sure you have enough space. I want to say 570MB free of internal storage is what it took for me...otherwise, the update won't work.
