No big suprises there. Poor management and poor products. There should be an office pool of how many more years (or months) RIM will last

Seems to me that Apple has also failed miserably: http://newyorkcity.injuryboard.com/d...oogleid=296540
There isn't a device out there right now that hasn't failed in some sort of way.
Current device: White 16GB Samsung Galaxy SIII

So if Rocketfish products failed, how does that affect Apple's market performance if Rocketfish is a totally separate company?
I was simply providing information which are true. You had to counteract by linking to an article which is irrevelant and has nothing to do with how Apple is performing or "has also failed miserably"
True that all products can have flaws here and there. But when the entire reputation of a company is affected by poor products and performance, that's a different story
I was a blackberry user all the way from the pager-like RIM 950 through several models to the 9700. I have moved on, but I do wish RIM well, and hope they can turn things around on the business side.
You never know. Things can change very quickly in the tech world.

Apple failed miserably by making a pile of shite. Just because something's popular doesn't make it good. The Yugo was popular once, too.

Where are all these "poor products"? I've got 6 BlackBerry smartphones and a PlayBook sitting my desk right now. They all work fine.
This confusion can easily be avoided if you pronounce the word intended aloud. If it has a voiced Z sound, then it’s “lose.” If it has a hissy S sound, then it’s “loose.” Here are examples of correct usage: “He tends to lose his keys.” “She lets her dog run loose.”
Loose
not rigidly fastened or securely attached
Lose
to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place
Also, just because a word has an "s" at the end, doesn't mean it needs an apostrophe.
Only failure I see is this waste of a thread.

More likely it has to do with the decreasing marketshare of RIM products in the smartphone market which currently stands at 18%. Last year it was 30%. So yeah something is up with RIM if their marketshare is shrinking. Hows RIM doing on NASDAQ for the past year?Originally Posted by mick662
Bad products are the least of RIMs problems right now. That's for sure.
man, you have no idea what your talking about. RIM makes a damn good product, and with their new launches of the 9900 and the 9930 it leaves these apple clowns something to "think different" with. all apple is is brand power there is no technological innovation, thats why they can flood the market with their trinkets. RIM takes a bit longer to bring a superior product to market, but your talking about secure, advanced devices, not "apple code" or god forbid android code, where security breaches are so common now the industry is up in arms (see sophos.com security bulletin digest for more).
And another thing, if your so concerned with RIMs market share just look at it this way, they hold no debt, and healthy cash reserves into the many billions of dollars, all without touching a line of credit, no my friend, they have something up their sleeve, like the qnx superphone, i'd invest! and remember with a company like RIM its all about doing it right THE FIRST TIME when the heads of state of the world use your product, or the most powerful corporations, law firms and institutions, not how quickly you can get the next model out to radio shack.
Many of these large corporations are already allowing Activesync with personally owned equipment as well as BES. Hence, RIM needs to be making the devices consumers want to grow.
RIM needs to grow to be an attractive investment.
I hope RIM has a great product consumers will want coming. The best product doesn't always win.
I agree. They need to do something fast. And the recent new about BBX OS phones not coming till the end of '12 isn't good news. But to blame their problems on poor products is effin' stupid. The OP comes across as an obvious Apple sheep. He can get in line next year for the "new" iShite 75, complete with Unicorn ivory inlays and a working antenna.
I really just think all the Blackberry bashing has gotten out of hand. Seems like people are just bashing it for the sake of doing so. My blackberry has always been great to me ever since the first units. Sure they are going through somewhat tough times but I know they will pull through it. There's way to many blackberry addicts out there that wouldn't be satisfied with one.
