What I would chose probably has no bearing on what you would choose. If you are looking for advice, then explain what you need and how you would use it.

BTW, I would pick neither. My device of choice is a BB 9810.

I'm not looking for Advice. I just want to know how many people will go for these top phones since they are the new device until 2012. Why would they choose these phone and why :-) I have a iPhone 4s which I love but some things from this phone doesn't have what android has. Small screen and battery is not that good. They charge a leg or two for small things that android has for less bucks. Now I love apple for there graphics on their games and icon and design. I still feel in my opinion that google can do better interns of graphics and smoothness.

I would not have iphone even if they gave it to me for free - including service. I just can't stand that platform.

I would take the Galaxy Nexus. For me the reasons are:

    1. Ice Cream Sandwich
    2. Big screen
    3. Google's updates
    4. Pentaband 3G (for the HSPA+ version) --- personal reason because I need it for traveling.
    5. Mobile data management --- again, because for traveling
    6. Unlocked --- again because I use different carriers when I travel.
    7. Google services --- I am dependent on GMail, GTalk, Google+. Google Search and Google Maps.

iPhone 4S with the update, great battery life.
Android battery life is GARBAGE and its glitchier then iOS from what I've found.
has everything android has and it just works when you take it out of the box, don't have to mess around with all sorts of crap.

Here are a few of things iPhone DOESN'T have or cannot do.

    1. Batteries are small, inexpensive and easily interchangeable. No need to ration use or carry a bulky piggy back battery unit.

    2. EASILY rooted and Customized. Even if not, Everything can be messed with to your eye's and personal need.

    3. Can connect and share any files with ANY PC via standard USB port or device via BT

    4. Memory can be swapped out to 32GB (64GB coming)

    5. Applications are not censored and can be applied from anywhere and from anyone. App store is not "centralized"

    6. Device can be completely resotored without any wireless connection from SD Card via Nandroid back up
Various ROMS and incarnations can be backed up and restored as needed without the need for "the icloud" .

    7. User Interface can be completely and totally customized with custom launchers No need for little "app boxes inside little app boxes"

    8. Adobe fully supported Web experience same as desktop with flash available upon demand. .

    9 DLNA Support

    10. 4G

    11. 2x the RAM for full multi tasking

    12 Larger screen

    13. thinner form factor

    14. 2MP front camera for better skyppe images

15 Complete integration with Google services 20GB storage
    free.

    16. Lots of Developer support.

    17. If you buy unlocked international phone you can get on ATT dumbphone plan at $15 Unlimited data. Savings more than pays for device.

    18. You can try before you BUY all apps for 15 minutes.

19 Plays wma files. and most Codecs.

    20. Not stuck with "I" anything to use it to the fullest.

    21. Phone has ability to attach USB stick for file transfer and HDMI out via inexpensive USB accessories.
Port is standard easily available micro USB.

NO NEED FOR "ITUNES" or Apple Control !!!!!!

I really don't understand how the iPhone got so far behind the curve. Actully many phones had some iPhohe features before iPhone got them

As in the early Macs, Becasue of "Apple control" They never got major traction in in the PC market. It took the iPod to finally save Apple, I think the same will happen with iphone hence their going litigation crazy trying to keep android at bay while copying their notification pull down bar all of a sudden. .

Downside....................a 10 year old may not get the full benefit of the device.

I owned a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and quickly returned it. The phone itself is beautiful though it feels very cheap. The screen was the best thing about the phone. Honestly Android 4.0 just felt like another typical Android Skin though it was a complete overhaul. The wireless radio in the Verizon Nexus is horrible. Apps too are also very glitchy. For example I bought dragons lair on my old iPhone and on the Galaxy Nexus. Though the Nexus has a faster processor the game doesn't run nearly as smooth as it does on IOS. Don't get me wrong the GN plays flash very well and does a few other things well but it's apps still lack the polish of iPhone apps and they are very glitchy and buggy. I also hated that after u download many android apps, before you use them you have to download another huge 1100 mb file. In my opinion Android is nice, but IOS is far more polished and just feels better even though it is limited in some aspects.

The Galaxy Nexus S screen just blows the iPhone 4S away, just comparing the phones directly.

Having used iOS for years, there is so many minor annoyances in mind that make me seriously question its alleged "polish". The new notification screen is just plain busy and annoying to look at, compared to the elegance of the notification curtain on Android. The ICS scheme of pulling up multitasking apps and swiping them away, is better than the iOS double home button tap, swipe to find app, then click on the icon top corner. I hate the fact that a slight off in the timing of the double home button tap would take you off the app into the homescreen rather than bring up the lower tasking bar. Then there are some things Apple never bothered to fix. Why do you have to reenter your password every time you need to update apps anyway? Why can't you show all the downloading apps in one view? Why can't you make a proper notification for a successful or unsuccessful update or install? Why does all the apps have to be displayed in the homescreen, even the ones you barely use? Why can't you just have a unified second tier to hide all your less used apps instead of filing them away in a multitude of folders? Up to now, why does the browser still have shecker boarding and lack zoom to text reflow features? Why do I have to go all the way to the left to get to the Search bar?

On another note, if the question is asked in context of Verizon, I would recommend looking hard at the Droid RAZR MAXX before looking at these two.

iOS is great on my iPad, but on the iPhone it bores me to tears. I am actually considering Windows Phone. The Lumia 900 sure looks nice, if only it were coming out on Verizon.
