T-Mo SIM card retailer in Canada (Hamilton) ?

    Hi,

I'm going south in a few weeks for vacation and would like to set up a T-Mo 4G Monthly plan to cover me while I'm there. (I have an unlocked android device that is network compatible with T-Mo's 1900 band). I'd like to get it all set up before I go. Anyone know of a retailer in the Hamilton, Ontario are that sells new (unused) T-Mo sim cards?

I am aware of a couple guys on ebay but I'm worried that I won't get it in time for the trip...

    Thanks,

    MM

I don't know if there's anywhere in Hamilton that you could get a US T-Mobile account, but this I can tell you that if you're going to get prepaid service not only do you need a SIM you need an activation code as well which you can only get with a prepaid kit.

Easiest is to just hop into a T-Mobile shop at your destination and get one. They're easy to get.

The only caveat is that some areas do not sell native T-Mobile service, e.g. in most of the Dakotas you can't find the kits. If the area you are visiting has native T-Mobile phone numbers you should be good.
GSM: SaskTel Canada (postpaid voice + data), Rogers Canada (postpaid data), T-Mobile US, AT&T US, Red Pocket Mobile US, Orange UK, 3 UK, Swisscom Mobile Switzerland, tele.ring Austria, airBalticcard (Estonia)

    CDMA: PagePlus US

    GSM phones: iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, Nokia Nuron (AWS 3G), Otech F1 (quad-SIM 2G GSM), Nokia E63, Sony-Ericsson K610i, Sony-Ericsson Z310i. All unlocked.

    Question

i was gonna post a new thread but figured i would bump this post up instead, since my question is sort of similar:

-i'm heading to the US from Canada tomorrow on a Greyhound bus
-will be on the bus for a good 8 hours before I reach my destination (and before I have access/the ability to get to a TMo store)
-I want to have cell service while on the bus (planning on doing T-Mo Pay by the day $2/day plan)
-I can get an unactivated TMo USA SIM card here in Canada from a friend, but according to what I've read so far, I need to go into a TMo store to get an activation code to activate the SIM on prepaid

Is there any way around having to go into a store to get an activation code? Can I get one on the web somehow or over the phone so that my phone is active while I'm on the bus as soon as I cross the border?

I don't think you would be able to do that over the phone but one way around having to go to a T~Mobile store is to go into any Target, Wal~Mart or drug store and buy a cheap T~Mobile prepaid phone which will have all you need in the package, the SIM card and activation kit.
Keep the cheap phone as a back up or sell it or donate it somewhere or toss it.
The Nokia 1661 should cost about $15 to $20 USD.

It is a junk phone but it will have what you need to get started in the package.

You can buy your airtime where you buy the phone while you are there.

Buy a T-Mobile SIM activation kit on ebay and get the prepaid refill from callingmart.com or competitor.

Err scratch that, missed the yomorrow part. You can't activate without the code..
