Looks like they shut down everything.
Since pages served to the phone were buffered by the Bolt servers, there is no longer a server to do the work.

This is why I have long sought for an alternative java mobile browser that does not require web pages to be 'transcoded' by the developers server.
Still, it was a good run while it lasted. Thank you Bolt.
What other alternates are there besides Opera? First Snaptu and now Bolt...this sucks.
Minuet is a Java browser that is not server based. The trouble with that of course is that, like the built in browser, it's much slower than server based browsers and can't load large pages at all
Thanks yeswap for pointing out Minuet as a browser that is not server dependent. I did remember the name and had a look on the link you supplied. Bummer it was abandoned, but surely it served it's purpose back then.
I would be fine with Opera Mini if portions of web pages did not get stripped out as determined by Operas servers. I have regular need of animated .GIFs to come through properly. Opera Mini will extract/display only the first frame of the .GIF.
Opera Mini is a nice Java Mobile browser overall and beats the default browser. Hope they can keep the Opera servers going![]()
It is sad bolt browser closed shop. I enjoyed that browser ESP when I was using blackberry. You always hate to see a business fail. It's too bad because a lot of people liked that program
trying to come up with better signature.......
I'm sure it's not gone. It'll return as a pay service. That seems to have been the problem anyway, the cost of running the servers.
So to all the fans of Bolt; are you willing to pay for the service?
Bolt Browser .83 Available
