Can't connect to Marketplace - Windows Phone 7

Anyone else have this issue on Mobilicity? Marketplace works fine once you connect to WiFi, so it's not an account or phone issue. This is on my neice's phone, I can't remember the exact error, but it was something about not being able to connect to the Windows Live Service or something. Data works fine in everything else.

Its the proxy settings. Send an email to tech telling them about the exact ports for WP7 marketplace and they will open them up

Update in case anyone else runs into this problem in the future. I PM'd Mathon about what settings he was using. This was a proxy related issue. If you only put in the APN and nothing else, Marketplace works fine.

For me no data related services worked unless I had APN set. How are you finding WP7? I have the HTC HD7 and I'm loving it.

Well, the APN has to be set for sure, but after the Mango update there was also the proxy setting that could be added; I did have that address put in. Once the proxy address was removed everything worked great.

I love Windows Phone, it puts everything else to shame. Me and my niece both run it on HD2s. There are some bugs running it on the HD2, but even still the Windows Phone experience more than makes up for that. After Mango came out, WP7 really became a complete OS. The tethering and Facebook chat support are excellent, and IE9 is the best mobile browser out there.

Yeah but without proxy setting it's uber slow with things like FB pics loading. To load a pic in the what's new section, it takes about a minute per photo. With proxy, it's about 5s. Don't think Mobi will be optimized for WP7 until they release one themselves

Hi folks. I am having a similar issue. HTC HD7 but my OneNote stopped syncing for a month now. When i am connected to wi-fi, OneNote syncs properly. So I suspect somethings up with Mobilicity? MarketPlace and all data services works fine over Mobilicity data.

    I am using:
    wap.davewireless.com
    10.100.3.4
    8080

Please help! I love my WP7 and MS OneNote

    thank you in advance!

Yeah it's a kick in the walnuts, xtachx tried to help me out by showing me the direction to mobi support but it's been 2 months and I haven't heard back other than the initial generic reply and the problems are the same. I have the OneNote only syncing on wifi issue as well (before fixed by using "internet.davewireless.com" instead of wap) as well as the slow Facebook photo downloading and think it's also a mobi porting/proxy issue. Thank god Wind will be introducing a WP7 phone soon so we know at least they'll be supporting our beloved phones.... guess we can't really blame Mobi for the lack of support when they don't actually have WP7 phones but hopefully Mobilicity will soon offer them too.

WinPhoneSupport on twitter suggested deleting is history and doing a battery pull. That worked for me. Not elegant but it doesn't rely on mobilicity

The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.

Slow Facebook is solved by using the mobilicity proxy. OneNote sync I don't know yet what the problem is.

Can you figure out the ports for OneNote?

Battery pulls and deleting IE history never worked for me unfortunately.

Slow FB does get fixed with the mobi proxy but with the proxy, marketplace always gives me an error when downloading then (going on WiFi would fix it though).

As for OneNote, still no go. The only time it worked for me was when "internet.davewireless.com" worked as an APN. Now nothing works... except for WiFi. Please Mobilicity, please!

rcxotic and xtachx, any luck on your ends?

Hi guys, I am new and just signed up with Mobilicity last week, using an unlocked rogers lumia 710. My e-mail sync, txt, calls, web browsing all work fine by default, however, marketplace is a constant Live ID error, chat can't connect to messenger and Skydrive access doesn't work.

Anyone know a solution to this? I assume it is port blocking on Mobilicity side, and since they don't have a windows phone 7 in their line up, are we out of luck? This really hampers my enjoyment of the phone and mobilicity in general.

    Please assist!

Exclamation Mobilicity & Nokia Lumia 710

Simply put, the experience of using the unlocked Nokia Lumia 710 on Mobilicity is not 100% complete, and until Mobilicity are willing to do some market research in order to discover that such phone operating systems like Windows Phone exist, there's no way to improve marketplace connectivity / actual usage for now.

Mobilicity needs to accommodate users who would rather bring their own AWS band IV enabled unlocked phones to their network regardless of the phones' operating system, which as a techy, I know takes time but Windows Phone been here a while now.

I'll be borrowing my sister's customs made Mobilicity micro SIM card from her unlocked Nokia Lumia 710 to test using a full SIM adapter in my unlocked Dell Venue Pro (which I currently run 100% no issues on Wind mobile), just to see if I get the same error messages whilst using Mobilicity on the Dell.
