I can confirm that this has just started happening on Mobilicity. I've used a few WP7 phones over a period of a year or so. Before, without the proxy settings, data speed for almost everything is fine except for Facebook photos and Onenote syncing (with proxy settings, everything is good except no marketplace access or live chat). Now just over the last couple of days, way more bits and pieces in WP is mega unusably slow. Marketplace as reported by others loads so slow it can't be used, and even pics loading up in apps like engadget and weave don't appear, or the preview pics in the people hub (fb feed)... Mobilicity MUST have changed something on its end. And you would think with Wind having a WP phone now, Mobilicity would catch up and do one and update its network to work with WP as well.

Internet browser, email, and some other things are working fine as usual though. What. Is. Up. Mobilicity?!?!

Yep. This is happening only to Mobilicity. I inserted a Rogers Sim Card into my T-Mobile branded HTC HD7 (and changed the APN settings) and was able to sync my OneNote no problemo. I've just sent Mobilicity an email asking what's up. I also pointed them to this thread. I'll keep you all posted

they will probably say it is a WP7 phone and they don't support it.
well, I'm using a Mobi Nexus S phone and i am having problems loading webpages, FB, etc. There, hope Mobi sees this

I think this is affecting all phones. Check the other thread about not being able to load certain sites. If not then it is certainly a WP7 problem.

Exclamation Mobilicity & Nokia Lumia 710

Anyone know a solution to this? I assume it is port blocking on Mobilicity side, and since they don't have a windows phone 7 in their line up, are we out of luck? This really hampers my enjoyment of the phone and mobilicity in general.

    Please assist!
Simply put, the experience of using the unlocked Nokia Lumia 710 on Mobilicity is not 100% complete, and until Mobilicity are willing to do some market research in order to discover that such phone operating systems like Windows Phone exist, there's no way to improve marketplace connectivity / actual usage for now.

Mobilicity needs to accommodate users who would rather bring their own AWS band IV enabled unlocked phones to their network regardless of the phones' operating system, which as a techy, I know takes time but Windows Phone been here a while now.

I'll be borrowing my sister's customs made Mobilicity micro SIM card from her unlocked Nokia Lumia 710 to test using a full SIM adapter in my unlocked Dell Venue Pro (which I currently run 100% no issues on Wind mobile), just to see if I get the same error messages whilst using Mobilicity on the Dell.

Looks like this morning in Calgary marketplace is fully functioning, as well as websites which would not load even yesterday. So it does indeed look like it was a mobilicity issue which hopefully they rectified for a while

Angry mobilicity, nokia lumia 710 unlocked vs dell venue pro unlocked & mobilicity

Wow...this is interesting...I finally did some thorough-ish testing

Nokia Lumia 710 unlocked & Mobilicity
marketplace still doesn't load a thing, everything else is okay

Dell venue pro unlocked & Mobilicity
Marketplace and everything else works flawless with the exception of Facebook which worked but with a bit of a lag compared to running other apps...i should say marketplace was quite very speedy on this setup interesting.

I wish I had access to more windows phones to run the same tests...

For now I'm gonna think...if dialing ##634# in your windows phone dial pad brings up diagnostics with the option to set APN & MMS, then that's worth a real world test in my lab. Unlocked Nokia Lumia 710's diagnostic menu didn't give me this option I resorted to using a Nokia app, Network Setup, whose data i cannot view this is not acceptable i need to see my settings so this little app despite the fact that it made mms work for me, might as well be the reason marketplace is messed up...need to run more tests...

Talking finally...this is now resolved and fixed....

So just like I suspected....Nokia had to update their Network setup app...rebooted the Nokia Lumia 710 unlocked on mobilicity and saw that marketplace had an update for Network Setup (Nokia app used to automatically obtain settings from your service provider)....so I connected to WiFi and updated it...oh I actually noticed it's now called Persiapan Jaringan...and its version 1.6.0.0 AND its the real deal....

With this version I was able to edit APN & MMS settings to input all settings as shown below...and after I did a reboot and the device then it worked like a charm...marketplace works awesomely...so if anyone has unlocked Nokia Lumia 710 unlocked on Mobilicity then you should definitely try this...

Here are the settings...oh the name you provide for your APN that will repopulate in the Persiapan Jaringan drop list and that's what you should select and not Name = Mobilicity...

To create an APN for data

STEP 1: Go to Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network >Access Point Names

STEP 2: Press the ‘Menu’ button and then select create ‘New APN’

STEP 3: Populate the following fields:

    Name: MOWAP

    APN: wap.davewireless.com

    Proxy: 10.100.3.4

    Port: 8080

    MCC: 302

    MNC: 320

    APN type: default

Please note: Other fields can be left blank

To create an APN for MMS

STEP 1: Go to Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network >Access Point Names

STEP 2: Press the ‘Menu’ button and then select create ‘New APN’

STEP 3: Populate the following fields:

    Name: MOMMS

    APN: mms.davewireless.com

    MMSC: http://mms.mobilicity.net

    MMS Proxy: 10.100.3.4

    MMS Port: 8080

    MCC: 302

    MNC: 320

    APN type: mms

    STEP 4: Save

Please note: Other fields can be left blank

This sounds a lot more like Android settings. WP should only allow much less. The recommendation for Mobilicity and WP7 phones is to only put in the APN "wap.davewireless.com". Proxy and port settings will disable a lot of features in WP.

I tried that, first issue is i can't add or edit settings in network setup (1.6.3.0), second, i don't have wireless and network in settings....
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.

Yeah Network Setup is no good I think it's what breaks the experience...you need to find Persiapan Jaringan version 1.6 worked on my sisters Nokia lumia 710 unlocked...marketplace is back working wonders. Persiapan Jaringan will let you edit the apn and mms settings on your unlocked lumia 710 Nokia device...

It was Persiapan Jaringan 1.6.3.0 - nothing earlier available. Also, after it installs it shows up as Network Setup in the app list.

Anyone notice that Mobilicity made a change of some sort? Facebook/people hub images load rather quickly now. And with the proxy settings, marketplace still works (live messenger "kinda" works too). Hope they're readying for a WP7 phone... about time.
