love my black galaxy s2 and thinking of selling for white version, does anyone have the white and what do you think? not in stores so hard to see real pics and not web ones does it look cheap? please chime in
Oh I guess they did upload! I just got to a PC and see them above. Strange that those pics won't show in the app and I got an error uploading. Oh well.
I like the white GS2 pretty well overall. Its not quite as pretty as an iPhone in white but it is close. Its obvious that's what Samsung is going for. I'm happy to have something that stands out a bit from the rest of the black slab touch screen phones. The back is all glossy plastic (doesn't the black one have a matte finish?) so be prepared for smudges and grease galore. So far the back cover seems to fit nice and tight so there is no creaking. Overall the build quality is pretty solid. I like the fact that everything is smooth and there are no sharp edges. You can feel a small lip from the bezel around the edge of the screen but it is nicely rounded and feels okay in the hand unlike the Amaze which has an irritating sharp edge around its screen. The size is a bit large so it isn't as comfortable in my hand but I think I can get used to it. I like the feel of my Nexus S better but it is a smaller phone so it is easier to hold. I knew going to a 4" to 4.6" screen was going to be an adjustment. I'll be interested to see if this waffle bothers me in the front pocket of tight jeans. And given how poorly my holiday diet has gone thus far my jeans are getting tighter by the day!
As for the software, this is my first experience with TouchWiz and it really reminds me of iOS in look. Of course I've already installed my license of Launcher Pro and probably won't deal with TouchWiz from now on. From the little bit I used it tonight I think I'm going to like the dialer, contacts, and messaging apps which I can't replace so that is good since I use those most often.
I'm really interested to see how my data speeds do with the new HSDPA 42mbps chip. I'm hoping I can regularly see some peaks above 20mbps. From using it tonight I can definitely say that the wifi on this thing rocks. I've been getting 32mbps DL on my wireless N network which puts my Nexus S to shame and even leaves my myTouch 4G which is also an N behind. 35 is about the max that I have coming into the house and what I get at PC wired to the router. Only 1 of our laptops has been getting that kind of speed over wifi so that is impressive compared to the 7-9mbps I'd get over wifi on the Nexus S.
I love the white since the black/graphite is so bland. I'm just still trying to get used to the size. Screen is great but it's not comfortable to hold with one hand.
