How to obtain a Job with Verizon on the Network team?

Hello, I know alot of the members that visit this forum work in retail, but I wanted to see if any of you work in verizon Wireless corporate.

I really wanna work in the Verizon NOC, or inside a Super Switch.

I love wireless networking, and cell phone technology etc...

My question is do any of you, if you work in similar positions, know how verizon hires for these positions... Do you really need to just apply online and get lucky, and have the required, experience and education, or is there anyone here that has connections to HR etc?

I feel like there has to be a better way of getting a chance..

This is truly my passion, and my calling I believe.


Does verizon promote from retail? Do i need to start as a sales rep in a store, then move up to a job I want on the network team?

I don't know how much off the street hiring VZW does for the Network side of things.

I do know that people do successfully transition from tech support roles to the network side of things.

Other than that... I'm really not much help on this one.

Location plays a big part on job availability on the Network side. Sometimes you must be willing to move to get the job. In the case of a NOC position there’s actually two locations, Texas and New Jersey. When searching the careers page on the Verizon website, only select Network and leave out the location, this will allow you to see the full spectrum of Verizon Wireless, Network job offerings.

Verizon Wireless does promote internally, and well as direct hiring. By simply applying you will greatly increase your chances.
