i havent used the zte one, so i can't be sure that it will actually work for usb tethering, so i'd say go with the max. it's got a smaller screen though, and texting can be a pain sometimes.

Nywayz probably gonne never use it for texting!! so, what I do when I take out the phone from the box for the tethering?!

Hi.

The thing is that tethering is NOT an official service offered by PM. It you look at their website, the explicitly say that you CANNOT: http://www.publicmobile.ca/pmconsume...pageURL=#qa3-1

Some have said that it "kinda" work when you use the Max phone connected to a laptop through USB and using an app (pdanet).

So, basically, you probably can get it to work, more or less reliably. It could work today and stop in a couple of weeks. It could work all the time and it would be an amazing deal for the price paid.

So until it is an official supported service offered by PM (if ever), it's a big YMMV.

I can confirm that the PDANet does not work anymore on the MAX phone. Web browsing is disabled for some reason. I tried it multiple times. If you try to ftp from the PC to a ftp server, it works. So there is internet connection to a limited extent. Just no web browsing. Tooooo bad. Another door closed.
