How come you aren't Mod of mobi as well. I thought you had a mobi plan. Btw, who is Mobi mod here?

I tweeted stewart lyons and he repeated that the speculation pops up every so often for the past 3 years.
Personally I find it gratifiying that he's continuing on in Dave's footsteps as far as keeping the open communication lines in such a way.

I'm sure talks have occurred. How far along they are/were is anyone's guess. Whether they're fruitful is another.

But the analysts are right. There WILL be consolidation. I would have thought the first round of consolidation would have been Shaw selling it's spectrum to Wind and/or Mobilicity.

Maybe it will go the other way, shaw will buy mobilicity.

    hm...

I think something will merge down the line but I am still happy with the price and service compared to roger's prices.

What would happen to our plans if Mobilicity merged with WIND?

Would we get to keep them? Or would they force us onto one of their own plans?

I have the BTS $25 and was thinking of adding voicemail before anything happens to Mobilicity so hopefully it would get granfathered. Or maybe put us on a permanent Oh Canada plan.

It's unprecedented to have one company take over or merge with another and then say "welp, your old plans are invalid, fark off or get on our new/current plans now". All you have to do is look at rogers/fido and clearnet/telus... there are still grandfathered fido customers today that have access to 100gb of data or something, while on the rogers network. It's extremely unlikely (almost in the not going to happen territory) that they'd force plan changes on everyone, that's a real good way to lose 100k+ customers to the various big3 discount brands (which will still be around for some time). You might not be able to alter your plan down the road though so adding VM might not be a horrible idea, but I wouldn't be in a rush to do it either... I hate VM

I'm in the exact same boat as you brotha! I hope that if Mobi does crash, then that Wind buys them and we get to keep our 25 BTS plan. I'm also contemplating getting VM, I just need it for when searching for a job, etc. I hate the fact is 8$ though and not 5$ like with Wind.

So arikah if our plans do get grandfathered we can't modify it after (unchangeable)? Like we couldn't add Wind's 5$ VM after? That sucks if its the case, so that means we'd have to get VM before the merging is complete!!

I would get the $5 call control to forward no answer or forward unreachable to free VM service. I am using free phone line dot com VM with VM to email feature.
PM me if you want a $10 Mobilicity referral credit
Have a better and better day!

It's good to see stewart trying to follow in dave's footsteps.

on your tweets to stewart, i don't think mobi would flat out deny at xtachx's meeting that take-over talks are in the works and then go on twitter and say anything different regarding any takeover talks.

this is the first time i've seen any take-over/merger involving mobi and wind news stories on the web or on hofo. if these stories happen all the time as mobi claim i should at least see lots of threads pop-up on hofo. unless i miss them all the time.

I have a feeling that if they really were lieing about a prospective buyout they probably would not have responded to me in a public way like that, but thats just my opinion.
