no contract, no promises. You could sue for a month, after that its on you for staying around.
I don't think they're suing for a little bit of service; just like if you're injured in a car accident you don't just sue to get yer hospital bills paid. There's actual damages, then penalty charges layered on top of that to discourage a company (generally) from doing the same thing they've been doing all along.
