Looks like Sprints removing discounts now from the SECONDARY lines on family plans starting in 2012.. I know they made a change sometime back where it was removed from additional lines, but now it seems for example if you have the 129.99 plan, you'll be charged 110.00 (for the primary line), and get your discount off that, and the 2nd line (which has always been "included" in the 129.99 cost), is now 19.99 (the math still comes out the same, at 129.99), but in the end, you're now paying a little bit more (in my case 5.00 more, which while it's not going to be the end of the world, still kinda sucks)..
This sucks.... In the last 2 years my phone bill has gone up at least $30 bucks. Between the premium data fee, insurance increase, and other miscellaneous fees. Seems like they are themselves in line with the big two in terms of pricing. I've been considering switching for a while but unlimited data and low prices always kept me from doing so but if this continue sprint is going to lose a seven year customer.
U can still get unlimited data on verizon. Just look around.

I've read about it. I really like sprint but the price keeps going up and the level of service is going down. I'll wait it out and see how much more my bill is going to increase and see what their lte service is going to be like before I leave.
How do I get ul on vw? Where do i look?
Thanks
I thought the 129.99 plan for Sprint included the 2nd line? Meaning how are they gonna change it to 119 and now charge for a line that was included?

Right *now* the 129.99 does include it. They'll be re-vamping it so that it works out to 110.00 for line 1 (the line you CAN get discounted), and line 2-5 will be 19.99. 110.00 + 19.99 still equals 129.99 (as far as line 1 and 2 go), but now Sprints going to basically break line 2 off, and charge the 19.99 for it, and 110.00 for the primary, which means if you get a discount you'll only get it off the 110.00, instead of the present 129.99 way it works. For me, instead of getting 32.50 off 129.99, I'll be getting 27.50 off 110.00

Thats the same way it works out for me so I'll be paying an extra $5 plus whatever the taxes go up to since thats 5 more bux to get taxed. Well hopefully sprint takes this extra cash and invest it into their network.
Will this change allow us to opt out of the contract? Without etf?
I think it will cost me more than $5 a month
And my area is already covered by vw LTE ... I have been with Sprint/nextel through thick n thin but wasted money on EVO for 4G that never became ... Another yr+ before I see sprint LTE and now more price increases? Great

Since this change won't happen for over a month from now, nobody can say, but I wouldn't anticipate them letting anyone go ETF free, as company discounts are not part of the contract to begin with. While I think it's something they should allow people to leave over, I'm pretty sure that given all of their other recent changes, it just won't happen that easily.

I mean because they are changing my plan ... Or hopefully we will be grandfathered ... If it does change this just might make me jump lol ... Things just don't seem to be getting better - over here with sprint ..

They're not changing your plan at all. You still pay 129.99 for two lines, you're just paying 110.00 for the 1st, and 19.99 for the 2nd. They're changing the way they discount the 2nd line now (3rd-5th was changed about a year ago). It's not a change to the contract or plan, as business discounts are not part of your contract period. If you had a discount, say a flat $ fee discount (as Sprint used to offer way back when), and that was part of a renewal or whatever, and they removed that, then that would in fact be a change in contract/plan, and allow a free out. It sucks, but Sprint's pretty much covered their rear ends with their last TOS update, and theres not really much more they can change at this point, any real other changes WOULD in fact result in an ETF free parting of the ways, but I don't think this change will.
The difference is they both offer a superior product. So paying more is acceptable. There was a point past which it didn't make sense to stay with sprint. Once the difference in price between them and the premium brand became less than 10 dollars, then what am I saving? This is why people like me leave. I could put up with dropping calls and slow speeds for 20 or 30 less a month. But 5? Why bother? For a few dollars more now I never drop calls and have steady 1.5-2.2 data speeds everywhere I go.

You are absolutely correct. Sprint is going to put themselves out of business. There is no financial reason for me and my family to ever consider Sprint at this point in time. A few years ago that wasn't the case.
