Hi to all VZW employees. I can't get an answer from VZW customer service about employee my employer discount. I work for the USPS. I know the discount is 20%.
First question, I know there's a 3% paperless billing discount. Can I apply my 20% with the 3% paperless billing discount?
Second question, I'm currently with AT&T and my employer discount applies to each line of data. Example I have 4 lines of unlimited data @ $30/each totaling $120. The employer discount applies to the $120 total.
So far I'm not crazy about VZW customer service as they can't verify that my employer discount would apply to ALL lines for data.
Not for anything, but your ******** on VZW customer service for something they have no control over. Search my post history, and you will find that I'm no fanboy of VZW customer service, but this is one issue I will defend them on. The problem is, VZW has service discount contracts with literally thousands of companies and government agencies. The nuances of those contracts vary greatly from company to company. The discount amounts can be as low as 8%, some apply to all lines, some don't, feature discounts vary, waived act fees vary, etc, etc, etc. It is impossible for any representative to know the *exact* details of every discount contract.
Secondly, alot of this info is often shielded from reps, so as to avoid reps "shopping" company discounts and fraudulently applying them to customers accounts of people who are not actual employees. In short, reach out to whomever your HR contact is within your USPS branch. They *should* have all of the discount details as part of your overall employee benefits and incentives package.
Low price, Excellent Service, High Quality. Pick any two, but you never get all three.

I did today after this post and yes I'm eligible for data discount on all lines.
Well the new tiered data plans don't get the discount off the $30 plan ever. It must be $50 or higher data feature to get the discount. Just FYI. And usually it's only off the feature on the primary line, not all lines. With ALP now in play and never going to have had a primary I wouldn't count on the discount on feature at all.

Really?? So the generalized rule of $30+ doesn't apply? I realize every company is a little different, but what I have always been told is that in general, anything $30+ (except unlimited talk, talk and text plans) qualify for a discount. Am I off base with this? I wouldn't be surprised if ALP changed the way discounts are applied on the voice plans.

That was talking about the data feature not an actual plan. But even on plans it's not totally true. Mobile broadband plans don't get discounts at all. They did for a long time but were all removed and said it was a mistake.
