My price would be $70.12 on a new activation including the monthly fee.

Thats actually a good deal just a small question a local small dealer once told me he could activate the blackberry on the $40 plan is he bsing me?

If you have a non Metro branded Blackberry and you find someone to help you flash the phone, then theoretically you can activate a Blackberry on the $40 plan. Same family plan discounts will apply.

I dont agree with dealers slamming customers, but giving lower prices than the MSRP is not any better than that. More of a slap to the face of MPCS and your fellow dealers now instead of the customers, i guess i wish business was fair but im naive i guess LOL

Lets say your a Top tier dealer that means your paying $29 for the m835, so you could be making $60 per unit on a new act on the normal MSRP, but instead your taking a hit and making $35 (could make alot less if your a small dealer) so now you gotta work twice as hard to make what you wouldve made on one box sale.
I guess what im trying to say is that if you take so much pride in your Customer Service why dont you let that be the difference between you and the dealer down the street instead of coming down to cheap tactics like that?
All the dealer down the street has to do is hear from a customer what your doing and go buy a phone from you( i would do it in a heartbeat), take that sales receipt to their ASR and get your door canceled.
Hope your not in DFW, MPCS is being very strict on that out here.

If its a Metro branded Blackberry, then the only way to activate it is on a Blackberry plan. There were older plans that were cheaper than the current plans offered.....The only other solution I can think of to activate a METRO branded Blackberry onto a $40 plan is by doing illegal things and modifying the phone that will not be discussed on this board as per the board rules...

Regardless of how you activate a non-Metro BlackBerry, are you still able to utilize the BIS on it? I recall that being the problem with flashed RIM devices on the Metro network where no matter what, you still couldn't get the actual BB email to work through the RIM BIS service...unless someone found a way to get that to work by now.

Oh dont worry i wont even ask i know what u mean but i was thinking maybe they flash it to another carrier then flash it back to metro but either way im not interested in a blackberry i was going to get one for my mother just for the fact that it has a clear easy to use qwerty keyboard, but now metro is full of them so i can get something else that dosnt involve $50 just cause its a bb.

they are probably still working on their site, this time i tried a mesquite,ft worth, and richland hills zip but it still didn't show it
