wasnt the esteem supposed to be $349 with $100 instant discount in early dec? That never happened and now they lowered the mail in rebate to $50 from $100? Why would they actually raise the price or have this phone cost you more then it did when it first came out? That tells me this is selling well and that the other android 4g phones arent coming anytime soon. You usually want to sell old inventory before getting new inventory and you arent going to sell as much when you raise the price.

some people posted that it will be released mid jan. I don't think it was supposed to be released on the 2nd.

I've been reading through the non-sense... I want to thank everyone for there enthusiasm. I usually lurk on here and I appreciate the info I get.

Couple OT comments, MetroPCS is really protective when it comes to future products or plans. So, if you are a dealer, it's best to lurk and not talk about products before they are released. So I understand why wakoboy acts like that. I tried to write something positive and factual a few months back on yahoo finance about PCS and got a call from corporate telling me to shut up.

As for dealers charging, the problem with prepaid is that they don't pay nearly the same amount of commission as post-paid carriers do, so its harder to make a living off a store unless you sell like 50 phones a day. We find ourselves questioning how to balance various service fees to make sure we can survive and not make customers upset. Just remember, in small businesses everythng is negotiable.

As for the phone, I am happy its only a 3.5" screen, I am one of those people who likes a medium sized phone cause they travel better. I have both an Esteem an a Galaxy S (t-mo) and I refer the leaker Galaxy, but really wish for an LED flash. This looks like a perfect combo. I imagine this phone to be like a 4G Admire.

i get your point but good customer service goes a long way. i pay my bill at my local store even though its a hell of a lot easier, cheaper and more convenient to do it online. my guy on 69th street in philly is cool and easy to talk to. he doesnt own the store but runs it AFAIK. Straight up, honest dude. I send everyone i know with Metro there and they end up doing the same as me.
