    Galaxy Nexus audio problem

I picked up a Galaxy Nexus on the 15th and have been loving it. My friends with iphones are pretty jealous when they see the panoramic camera and face unlock. ICS is smooth and pretty. Aside from a few minor problems (battery life, very low audio volumes, lack of Facebook integration, and annoyingly slow notification light pulse), it kicks some serious butt. MAJOR upgrade from my OG Droid, no questions asked. No signal issues for me here, but I live in the Bay Area, so I wouldn't expect that.

Anyway, the problem I've noticed is that the audio seems to drop out at random times. Today it was in the middle of a call...suddenly neither of us could hear each other. It didn't come back on after a reboot and battery pull, but came back somewhat randomly after connecting and disconnecting from my PC to back up my files in preparation for the inevitable factory reset (which I then didn't have to do). Oddly enough, while the call audio was not working, the ringtones still worked (the person I was calling tried to call me back, and I could hear the ringtone but we couldn't hear each other), and the call audio worked only when I turned on the speakerphone. None of the UI sounds like keyboard clicks and screen shutdown sounds worked, and neither did Youtube or Google music.

Have any of you experienced this since getting your Nexus, or am I just a special kind of lucky? This is all I've been able to find on it:

Should I resign myself to going back to Costco and getting a replacement?

Update: A factory reset did not resolve the problem. Sound intermittently came back, but it's broken more often than it's working.

Update: Tried a hard reset as well as a new SIM card with no change in the problem. Aside from ringtones, alarms, and notifications, I still have no sound (either output or input) unless I'm using headphones, bluetooth headset, or speakerphone. I'm currently waiting for any of the multiple Costcos in my area to get the phone back in stock so I can exchange it.

I've also been checking other forums for potential solutions. I'll post links here in case this is potentially helpful for anyone:

Try an app named SoundAbout. Do a search on it if you would like. It solved the issue for many android users.

Volume+ works as well. Also, try loading the Beats codec.
