Bold 9900 - Callers cannot hear me

Is anybody having trouble with their Bold 9900?

When I am talking on the phone sometimes the caller will tell me they can’t understand or hear me. The only way to fix this is to hang up and disconnect from the network or restart the phone.

I have contacted Telus and they are looking at the network where I have had trouble with calls, but I feel like it might be a hardware/software issue.

Might be the hardware or the software. I'm not a Blackberry expert but did you manage to do a restore through your Blackberry Desktop Manager?

Yes, I have restored the software to the latest official Telus release and a later RIM release. But the problem persisted in both versions.

Guess I will try to figure out how to reproduce the problem and talk to a Telus store that does Product Care.

Oddly, I took out the MicroSD card last night and since then nobody has complained despite me making calls from the same location. We will see if it re-occurs.

Put the card back in and make a test call.

Unfortunately, after two days of good calls the problem returned today without the memory card in the phone. So I guess that was not causing the problem.

Same problem and i returned mine after 3 days of using it and the new 9900 is doing the same, callers say I can't hear you the backround noise is real loud. A few told me to call them back! I am selling it on Craiglist tonight and buying my first iphone even though I love the Keyboard!

You should try one of the other official software updates for the Bold. The carrier version is often outdated even though other carriers get updates with numerous fixes.

Check Crackberry for the latest version and give that a try. Official versions (as opposed to leaked ones) are usually really good and have fixed receiption issues with phones for me in the past.
But on the plus side, I knocked over the SunSphere.

    U/L Picture/Video/Text Messaging
CDN LD @ $0.10 per min
USA LD @ $0.20 per min
    6 GB Data
    U/L Bell to Bell Local
    $50/month with no SAF/911

I updated to 7.0.0.540 shortly on the weekend and haven’t made many calls to test it out. It seems to be working better though.
