    Samsung Freeform III Network Error

When I tried to log on to the internet it loads the Metro Web and then it says Error -Network Problem. The same goes for the MetroStore etc. I am able to make calls and send and receive text messages with no problem.

I did a hard reset took the battery out for 5 minutes then put it in and did a *228 to update my roaming.

After this did not work I called MetroPCS SOS and they reprogrammed my phone with re-entering my Service Programming Info. They refreshed the phone and still no Network Connection-Same Error Code.

The agent checked and saw no network outages/

Would someone here in the SF Bay Area(San Jose CA) see if I am the only one with the problem. Are they updating their towers, or is there a lot of users due to the holidays?

If it was a phone programming or handset issue I would not be able to make or receive calls or text messages. They issued a trouble ticket/

Did I do everything right? I don't want to waste a trip to a Corporate Store so if its truly on their end I will wait but if in 3 days and if the trouble ticket comes back as its a handset issue then I will go to the nearest corporate store.

Any insight would be most appreciative. Other than that the service is working with no problems.

    Still a Network Error

I am not sure why I cannot connect to the Internet/MetroPCS store. I would be most appreciative if you could read my original post and give me tips.

    Thanks

Any idea how to fix this?

I was wondering how to fix the Network Connection Error when trying to connect to MetroWeb and MetroPCS Store. What does the message imply? How do I fix this? The MetroPCS SOS team setup a Trouble Ticket.

Is this an issue with my phone or with their network? My Parents phone do not have this issue. When I did a*228 ti update the phone this is when it happened. I am able to send and receive text, picture messages and phone calls.

There is no Data block on the account.

Do I need to reset my phone(wipe all the contacts out).

When I went to NAM 2 before MetroPCS was programmed on both NAMS How do I completely wipe out NAM 2.

Thanks for your advice on how to resolve this.

    step 1
    write down
    MDN
    MIN
    SID

    step 2
backup all data, pics, ringtones contacts

    step 3

    Fix for Freeform 1 & 2
    1) Type 14735913580 on the phone to get into test mode.
    2) then type 037, then 027 to rebuild the NV
    3) it will restart. Then you might still have the same situation still.
    4) enter test mode again and this time type 022 it will show you a number that starts with 36XXXX
    5) type 00000 and press Center key to save, then type 002 to reboot

just follow each step it will rebuild the nv and then the phone will connect fine. if not you definitely need a new phone

    Hey Phillyprx09,

Thanks so much for the steps on how to fix my phone. It worked like a charm. No worries about the contacts as I had them backed up. There were no important photos or texts.

The internet and App store are now working. I don't know why I got the Error-Network Connection failed I guess this is one of the odd things in life that caused this to happen.

You saved me a trip to the MetroPCS store which would have been closing at the time. I called the MetroSOS to help me with the SID/MIN programming. So all in all within 45 minutes all was well.

    Thanks again-Daniel

Is your phone an Android or a Brew Phone? And what PRL do you have and since when are you having these issues. Thanks

this is a beautiful thread... original poster did a lot of good trouble shooting originally too i might add... you could've also tried switching between automatic and metro/home only as well, but seems like all is well now you most likely did need the wipe as i call it, ha ha

    Here are some tips

1 With the phone powered on Dial *228 and it will ask you if you want to Program the Phone.
    2. Make sure you have your Account Info and Password just in case.
    3. After the phone resets Dial 611 and select option 5 to update your roaming list and confirm that you want to do this when the message comes on. You should see SPL Lock OK and it will reset your phone.

Then make sure in your phone settings, network mode that its set to Automatic for Roaming purposes.

If this does not work you can always call MetroPCS Customer Service or go to your nearest store.
