Anyone else wondering if the boot loader will be locked? I figure it won't since LG doesn't tend to do that but the question still begs to be asked. Development for a phone like this could churn out some awesome results.
HTC One S. Yeah Buddy!
I would hope not. Like you said development should be pretty active, especially if its in the price range ($200-300) that I'm seeing mentioned.
ah i see well im sure we probaly would be able to find a hidden menu to disable that but i doubt that setting wouldnt be available i mean so far every android that has came out has had that function to turn off auto light sensor or whatever u wanna call it.
thats beacause thats 1 of the features that this phone wont have. i mean it makes sense that the same company that makes the phone dosnt overshadow one of its products just months after release. they made it smaller more compact, with a performance hungry cpu. i kinda of wiehged the pros and cons of this phones off the bat with just the specifications that was posted. for now i aint buying another phone till probaly next year im super happy with my esteem.
So no HDMI, a .3" smaller screen (no huge deal) and the front facing camera is not as good. I MIGHT just sit this one out until the next latest and greatest while using the funds to finally put a tablet in my hands.
now ur finally understanding my friend lol yep your correct about all that! thats why i was sort of puzzled about why you were way into this phone. the dual core 1.2 ghz is the only feature on this phone that is even worth checking out. but you know we still have users on the indulge or the crappy optimus that might wanna change phones lol. we do have the samsung galaxy s on its way to metro! you can check out the specs on the samsung site its not really all that either. i suppose the esteem is the rolls royce for now.
i agree its kind of when a movie company is thinking about a release date they dont just release it at a random date they release it perhaps a 3 weeks to a month after another movie has been release to ensure consumer's attention to that specefic movie. well in this case a phone.
I know there will ALWAYS be a latest and greatest but where do we draw the line? Do we buy the phone that comes closest to our current needs and expectations and live with it or wait for something to exceed our needs? Problem is our needs will never be met because with every new phone, we find something that it might be able to do better.
If I can have a phone that's basically the Esteem but with 1080p, dual-core, ICS, more RAM and 8GB or 16GB internal storage I'd be happy as anything but by the time they offer that, my needs (pronounced; wants) will change and there would be something more that I would ask for.
What I truly want is something that would allow me to replace my laptop with. If...no, better yet, WHEN they come out with a phone that converts to a tablet simply by being inserted into a larger screen, then can plug into a folding keyboard all while having the same processing capability of a current laptop, THAT is when I will truly be happy. Is that too much to ask for? I think not. I've been predicting that will happen way back in 1999 when I laid eyes on the first Palm that I came across and we are so damn close to this being a reality.
^Well, we'll be getting very close to that with the Asus Padfone. Its going to be unveiled at MWC.
