Did this post die or something??? It still looks like a decent phone, even though there are pluses and minuses when compared to the Esteem. I'm curious to see its price...

This post will come back to life when the phone is out probably
nothing more to say about it everything that needed to be said about it was said only thing that is unknown is price and release date.
Stores have received promo kits and dummy handsets yesterday, so it should not be much longer. It's usually a week or two after these come in.
Oh cool! I'm still debating if I want this or if I should just buy another Esteem for my wife and be done with it.
hey wagonis I wasn't sure if you have gingeresteem rom installed but the phone feels dual core at times and very solid and fluid i was thinking the same as you but my wife does not like the esteem she rather goes for the attain so I though about the connect for me but I rather wait for a galaxy s device once it lands for metro

Problem is that I have so many apps on my phone that I wonder if installing this ROM even makes sense. The whole purpose was to have a bare bones system so if you start to stack the apps in there, you just defeated the whole purpose...I think
I have the overclocked kernel and I have a ton of apps. I have my processor speed set to 1.618 Ghrtz and it is very responsive. I am about to install the ICS themed ROM here in a lil bit.
I second what Mike2828 said... I will wait and see if a Samsung Galaxy S2 hits Metro... It will be a ways down the line if at all, but with all of the development " way more than the Indulge ever got " the Esteem will hold me over for a while.
Just waiting for the phone right now. I'm really still on the fence about choosing this over the Esteem. If the price is close enough I'll probably end up getting the Connect. But I also want to see it in person and get a feel for the phone. The Esteem was a bit on the large side for me, but I feel I can get used to its size. In the mean time I bought a SE Xperia Arc for a really low price on Craigslist and its got the similar chipset (Snapdragon 8255 w/ Adreno 205) to the Esteem. Its running on MIUI and its so buttery smooth. Makes me wonder if I'll really care for the dual core processor of the Connect.
you can get used to the size, especially with netflix, skype, etc... i'm so used to it now i don't think i can downsize
cnet does have a review up of the LG Connect, though they only have a preproduction model so they didnt officially rate it yet, they do have a full review up.

This is the only thing that kind of worried me:
I do hope this is fixed in final but for some reason I have my doubts. Is there a similar problem on the Esteem? One thing I noticed was that some of the graphics weren't very smooth, unfortunately. When I played a typical game like Fruit Ninja, for example, the images were pixelated around the edges. Even the default wallpapers that the phone comes with appeared grainy. Watching HQ videos on YouTube yielded similar results. The midtier resolution was a big disappointment, considering that this phone has one of the brightest displays. Hopefully, I'll see this problem corrected on the final model,
Thats strange. Here's what they said of the LG Marquee's screen, which is also uses a NOVA display:
What really makes the Marquee shine is its 4-inch Nova display. LG claims it has 700 nits of brightness, which makes it the brightest and clearest display on the market. While we have yet to truly measure this, we can say that it does appear to be just a smidge brighter than the Super AMOLED Plus display on the Samsung Galaxy S II, and looks to be on par with the Retina Display on the iPhone 4. Yet, the Marquee display doesn't seem as vibrant or sharp. Of course, the displays on these phones are different sizes, so we can't say for sure--we're just eyeballing it. We'll have to test these phones in our labs for a more definitive answer.
Comparisons aside, the Nova display does look very impressive. With support for 16 million colors and a WVGA 800x480-pixel resolution, blacks are true and deep, and images and graphics pop with color. Text appears crisp as well. The capacitive touch screen felt nice and responsive, though we did experience the occasional sluggishness during menu transitions.
