LG Revere activation

Been searching the forums and coming up empty,

Can anyone say for certain if the LG Revere can be activated

on Pageplus. I have read some others indicating that it may have been

both a PRE-PAID and contract handset.

Looks like it may be a great no frills phone for some

seniors in my family.

It can be activated on PPC if it was a post-paid Vzw phone. If you buy it off of eBay, you have to make sure it was a post-paid phone since, as you mentioned, it is available both as pre-paid and post-paid.

post-paid from pre-paid?

The ebay store offerings these does not indicate?

I suppose the only way is to do an ESN check

I've seen a couple of them on eBay for PP -- search for "LG Revere PagePlus" you should be able to find them

What if you're a verizon contract customer and want to activate this phone for use on your account? Some on ebay say "pageplus only". These ones won't work?

I can't think of any reason why a LG Revere that can be activated on PPC couldn't be activated on Vzw. Can you post a link to one of the listings that you're referring to?

I'm not really sure why it would be that way. Unless someone else can come up with a good explanation, I would be suspicious of that listing.

I sent the seller a message. The reply makes me even more leery. I'd suggest that you stay far away from this one...

On ebay, the "Page Plus Only" term seems to apply to phones that were originally designed for another carrier and then flashed or on models are/were also sold as Verizon prepaids. If I were to guess, I would say the seller somehow "fixed" this prepaid Revere so it is able to activate on Page Plus. How exactly does the seller do this? I have no idea.

WalMart has the Revere for a very inexpensive price. I think it is listed as a pre paid phone.

If I don't already have an old VZW phone.. how can I get a decent NO FRILLS phone that will work on PP?

Post paid = contract

You can activate VZ contract phones, but you cant activate VZ prepaid phones on PP

For phones I would check Craigslist or eBay -- I'm planning on switching my sister over from TMo prepaid to PP and I picked up a used Moto W755 for $25 shipped on eBay as a backup phone which isnt too bad -- I'm looking to pick up a LG Revere as her primary phone
