I really hope Mobilicity implements some type of tab system ASAP.
When a highly-anticipated phone comes out from all the carriers, it will be Mobiliity that has the most disadvantage. All other carriers will start advertising 'starting from $99' while Mobilicity simply puts 'Price: $600'.
But it could be price $600 and include 1 year of unlimited voice/text/data. Or some sort of monthly rebate soared across a year like they've done in the past. With this phone, at least you know you can take it to any other carrier without needing to buy a new phone or unlock, so the $600 is a bit easier to swallow.
Unless and until Mobi resolves the problem of poor/throttled data, you can't fully utilize and enjoy a phone like this on Mobi's network.
But your could take it to pretty much any of the competitors here in Canada aside from Public though, no? That's the only way I'd drop that much money on a handset... I really want a Galaxy Nexus, but I'm not getting stuck on Mobilicity because of hardware limitations, that's for sure.
I dunno why I see so much whining about tab's. The fact is, other providers plans are higher priced. They don't have a "tab price" and a "non tab" price for your plan - that means that anyone who doesn't have an active tab being paid down is at a disadvantage.
Personally I like that I can get the best deal on a phone wherever I want, and then I can get the best deal on a plan, wherever I want.
