Brought up in a thread I had posted yesterday. Does anyone know if Blackberrys are ban from PP? Has anyone recently set up a blackberry on PP?
LMAO.....Anyone other than me eh? I answered that question in that other thread. (I cannot remember the last time I just guessed at an answer I have posted here)

I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.
Didn't want to offend you tracnet.. but, I'm also not going to take one person's word when I can try to find answers from others on this site. I've tried searching the net but haven't had too much luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I added an attachment to me earlier reply showing a chat that occurred minutes ago with a PP rep on the dealer online chat (NOT mine) acknowledging no ban. I too would not take one persons word. Your best bet would be to call PP CS several times and ask directly.
Oh yeah, don't worry about offending me...lol......I seem to offend a lot here myself.
Activated a BB yesterday, through a dealer (not PagePlus directly). Surely, if there was a ban the PagePlus system would kick out the MEID? I've yet to make a call but I was able to add the phone to my PagePlus online account, so I know it's active. Shows a $2 balance. Activation was free.
I've been using a BB Pearl Flip 8230 on PP for 6 months with no problems. Talk & text work right away, but if you want MMS and internet to work though, you have to download & install the service books for it. If you're not hands-on, maybe choose something different.

Can anyone confirm if mms is working on blackberry bold? Im using 8703e now with system 4.5 and mms wont work. I dont want to buy a bold from ebay if i cant get mms to work with pageplus.
MMS/Internet won't work on any Blackberrys out of the box. You have to install the service books.

I had a 9630 on Boost for about 2yrs, loved everything but Sprints crappy coverage....went ahead and ported to Straight Talk and got a Nokia E5 which is KINDA like a BB...well, I am missing my BB bad...cool phone but just not the same. Was thinking of going back to BB but thinking of trying PP. Can I try to put any BB on? I don't even want to do a Torch or anything, but maybe a Bold...do they have to be Verizon? I have a spare 9630... i am totally familair with the whole servicebook deal (did it many times...used deathtrips mms hack -assuming the same hack would work?)
I had a BB Tour 9630 on PP for a bit. That phone is no longer active because I didn't refill that line but I bet it would probably still work. I also had it unlocked and was able to use a Simple Mobile (T-Mobile coverage) with it and switch at will. This guaranteed me CDMA/GSM coverage just about anywhere. Nice.
I'm gonna try and get it activated again. I also would love to get a Bold 9930 on PP and unlock the GSM side of it for use with Straight Talk SIM as well. Gotta wait though, those, even used, are still a little expensive for me.
Lemme know your progress, I will do the same....must say the "BYOD" deal that ST is now running is allegedly everything but BB...weird....but anyway, lets stay in touch, I can get a Bold locally pretty cheap, big question u might know: should I assume I need to get a Verizon BB for PP? And if so did Verizon offer the Bold? I LOVED my Tour, but just hated the trackball messing with me, would love the touch sensitive one. I tried a Curve on Boost but did not like the lame graphics and keys were kinda plastic...nothing like the Tour...keep in touch and lemme know any info. OH I guess my main goal is BB on PP and the BB (9630 or better) has WIFI? Possible? Bold have wifi? If Bold is NON-Verizon, unlocked would it work on PP?
I just activated the Curve 8530 for my son. It did require a bit more work because for whatever reason the regular programming methods didn't activate it. We tried *22890 and *228. I told the support person it was a Blackberry and not only did they activate it, he knew how to tell me how to manually program it and assisted me in doing so. I'd love to get the service books on it. It is a very cute and capable little phone.
EDIT: Found and installed the service books from here. They worked great!

thx
Looking at the phone I have and the box: it's a Verizon (logo on the phone and on the splash screen) Bold 9650. So, yes they did offer it. And, yes it does have wifi. And, I do have it on PagePlus but I've disabled data so to me it's more a feature phone than anything else. Yesterday, I got it unlocked and am using the GSM portion of it on a foreign SIM - once again as a feature phone.
