Hi! I have a Docomo p906i ketai. My plan with rogers ended last year and when I went to get set up with them again they said they couldn't use an old sim card with it. But when I bought the phone, the people I bought it from said I could only use old sim cards with it.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Also, I think I may have damaged my little gold plastic thingy that makes canadian sim cards work (Idk what it's called OTL) does anyone know a reliable place where I could buy another one?
Does anyone know the best carrier to use? With Rogers my phone was always getting region-confused and saying "not in range" or whatever, thinking it was in japan again and not working.
The last of my memory was the old robbers 3040 sim cards worked with all kinds of hypersims. Rogers 4000 sim cards only worked with inex hypersim....and the even newer ones.... I don't know to be honest.
Okay, Iwas told when I bought my hypersim that it would only work with the old sim cards, which none of the companies use anymore. So all I have to do is get a new hypersim that works with new sim cards and everything will be ok? c: Does anyone know where I can buy one?

i dont want to be rude or want to sound like i am but just try it, you see something ? try it, we really don't have all the answers to all the questions yes we can give you our opinion but that's just what it is, is up to you if you follow or not, i shoot myself in the foot many times for things like this until i learned to research more into what i wanted, if you know that having a japanese phone have it's drawbacks and you are willing to sacrifice things like mms, internet , etc etc then try it , if it does'nt work sell it, what can you lose if you buy a new hypersim? 20? 30 bucks? just give it a try.
and let me tell you im still considered a newbie in the forum but something i learned is to follow the team here and try things on my own. The only way for you to find out if your P or F, SO phone work with X hypersim is by buying it yourself, pop it in the phone , if it works congratulations to you , you now have an exotic phone.

lol @ IonNuke, really just get a cheap hypersim and if it doesn't work contact zerox678, he can probably hook you up with a hypersim for your SIM model but if you ask me i say contact zero first.
I have a Speakout sim that's working with one of the said cheap hypersims. It's a bit more unstable than a 3040, but it works. I'll try a newer Rogers sim and see if it recognizes the sim.
Ok, so 4010 SIM+ 2008 iSmartSim+ N705i is apparently a working combo, although I'm not sure if it'll actually pick up signal, since it's an inactive one I have lying around.
