Is the first month with Virgin free?

When I signed up for the smartphone plan with Virgin Mobile last month, the rep mentioned the first month is free. I just sent a $71 payment to them. Got billed me for the first two days of usage which makes sense, but they also billed me for the monthly $60. Are they going to credit me next month?

No, 1 month free is only for talk and text plans, smartphone plans does not apply

It's a limited time offer and can't be doubled up with the "BYOP" promo for $5/mo off. Personally, I'd rather get $5/mo off forever instead of a one time freebie.
